Q1. Determine the diode current if n =2, Is is 50 nA, applied voltage is 0.6 V and the
temperature is 20°C.
Q2. Determine the diode current if n =2, Is is 0.1 µA, applied voltage is -10V and the
temperature is 20°C.
Q3. Determine the value of DC resistance of PN junction diode, when it is forward biased having
diode current 15m amp and applied voltage 0.82 V.
Q4. Find DC resistance of a diode, if voltage applied across a Ge diode at room temperature (300K)
is 0.3V. IS at this temperature is 2µA. Take ideality factor=2.
Q5. Determine the value of DC resistance of PN junction diode, when it is reverse biased having
following observations:
VD (Volts) ID (µ amp) IS (µ amp) RDC
-10 -0.1 -0.1 ?
-30 -0.1 -0.1 ?

Q6. Determine the value of average AC resistance of PN junction diode, for the following
observations:

Q7. Determine the ac (dynamic) resistance of the diode at forward current of 1 mA and 15 mA
respectively.
Q8. Determine the dynamic (ac) resistance of a diode if n =2, Is is 50 n amp, applied voltage is 0.6 V
and the temperature is 27°C.
Q9. Determine the current I for the configurations given in the figure 1 and 2 using the
approximate equivalent model for the diode.

Q10. An AC voltage of peak value 20 V is connected in series with a silicon diode and load resistance
of 500 Ω. If the forward resistance of diode is 10 Ω, find:
a) (i) Peak current through diode, (ii) peak output voltage
b) What will be these values if the diode is assumed to be ideal?
