Introduction

An amplifier is an electronic circuit used to increase the magnitude of the signal

applied to its input signal. The amplifier has many forms of electronic circuits that
are classified as amplifiers according to their configuration and considered two
types of signal seen in the amplifier: Small signal and Large signal. Small signal
amplifiers are commonly used to amplify relatively small input signals into more
significant output signals to drive a relay. In this project documentation, we are
tasked to create a 20-watt amplifier with an audio cable that amplifies the sound
input in the circuit and a built-in speaker for the sound output. The Integrated
Circuit (IC) is considered a fundamental building block for amplifiers for all
modern electronic devices and contains thousands of transistors, resistors,
capacitors, and diodes.

II. Review of Related Literature

These are the related literature that supports the evidence or observe what an
integrated circuit can do to any situation and how can the develop of amplifiers or
oscillator can shape up the future of technology

1. A survey of optimization techniques for integrated-circuit design

Upon reading the article about integrated circuits, theories, algorithms and
programs are reviewed and assessed to be made for the impact
optimization has had and will have on integrated-circuit design. Integrated
circuits were categorized by their complex tradeoffs between their
functionality and complex objectives on the subject of constraints (Bayton,
R.K et al, 1981). Integrated circuits were subjected to be optimized for
constraint techniques which are appropriate for the environment.

2. Integrated circuit technology options for RFICs-present status and

future directions

The article summarizes the technological parameters involved in

observing the radio frequency integrated circuits for communication. Radio
transceiver circuits have an extensive range of requirements-including,
noise figure, linearity, gain, phase noise, and power dissipation (Larson,
1998). The article further observes the frequencies in the integrated circuit
on the advantages and disadvantages of each compelling technology.
3. The Integrated Circuit Industry at a Crossroads: Threats and
Opportunities

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the persistent chip

shortage, the war in Ukraine, and U.S.–China tensions, the semiconductor
industry is at a critical stage. Only if it can sustain itself and continue to
provide solutions for exponential technological growth will it be capable of
significant changes (Pennisi, 2022). The integrated circuit forms the basis
of the overwhelming process of enabling modern technology for current
and future applications.

III. Methodology

A device known as an amplifier in electronics responds to a small input signal (such as

voltage, current, or power). It produces a larger output signal that retains the input
signal's key waveform characteristics. So let's talk about how a simple 20-watt amplifier
works.

A. Tools/Components

These tools/components can be used on making 20-watts amplifier

1. TDA2005R
audio It is a 20-watt audio amplifier IC that is intended
amplifier IC for use in automotive radio applications. The
chip can be used to easily create power
booster amplifiers due to its high current
capabilities (up to 3.5 A). (Note: You can use
another audio amplifier IC.)

2. Heat sink Heat is removed from a component using a heat

sink.

3. Capacitors It is a device that uses an electric field to store

electrical energy. In this 20-watt amplifier,
different capacitors with different microfarads
can be used.

1000uf / 25volts, 220uf / 25volts, 2.2uf / 25 volts,

10uf/25volts,4x 0.1uF Ceramic capacitors

4. Transistors a three-connection semiconductor device having

amplification and rectification capabilities.

5. Resistors electrical component with two terminals that

uses electrical resistance as a circuit element.

6. Audio Jack connector for amplifying signals.

cable

7. Heat sink placed at the semiconductor's contact with the

compound heat sink, which is ideal for transferring heat
away from the chip

8. PCB Board a conduit used in electrical and electronic

engineering to safely link electronic parts to one
another

9. Speaker output device used for playing sounds

B. Process
Let’s say this circuit diagram is an example of a 20-watt amplifier.

We can make this diagram into the PCB using the tools above. Based on the chart, it will have
an ideal voltage of 12 to 15 volts and an output of approximately 20 watts. The TDA2005R, a
class B dual audio power amplifier in the Multiwatt11 package, serves as the project's primary
component. The TDA2005R can be set up for stereo or bridge applications.

The TDA2005R has a closed-loop voltage gain of roughly 50 dB and can function with a supply
voltage range of 8 to 18 volts. You can see that it has two 1 ohm and 10 ohm resistors, as well
as 1.5k and 1k resistors. Different capacitors can be seen in the diagram.

The signal from the audio input will flow throughout the circuits and be amplified by the
TDA2005R IC before being sent to the speaker.

Figure 1. Physical representation of the circuit

This is the picture of the amplifier circuit; all components are placed in the right positions based
on the diagram. It can amplify any music, although it may not have a clean sound and will have
slight static on the audio.

IV. Conclusion & Recommendation

We conclude that a 20-watt amplifier is good enough if you are using it alone. Yes, it may have
a slight issue regarding the static sound, but it’ll do okay in some way. Your amp should be
around 20 W for domestic use. You should have a 20-watt tube amp if you're performing alone.
If you want to use it for gigs or other sound performances, we recommend an amplifier with a
higher wattage output, which means it will produce a louder sound. You'll most likely require a
100-watt solid-state amplifier or a 50-watt valve amplifier if you're playing with a drummer.
