Hi all, I tried Dev-cpp 4.9.9.2 with Symbian 9 (UIQ3 SDK) and with the aid of a dummy makefile which wraps the symbian build system it works even with the code warrior compiler which is used for emulator builds. Also method completion and so on works pretty good. Now I have some questions to makes it easier using it in daily-life: - I would like to add chm-files in a way, that they will be searched for the word under the cursor if I press F1. I have already seen that this should work. I tried to add the UIQ3 SDK documentation in (sorry, I use the german version, may be strings will be others in english) "Help"->"Help menu editor" and activated here the option "Search in help file for word under cursor position" and "F1-shortcut". If I press now F1, the documentation will be also displayed but not searched for the word. What's wrong? - Is it possible to get coloured output on the compiler tab or exists there any other possibility that makes it easier to visual distinguish between warnings and errors. - Can I create different menu items for each makefile target? For example, I would like to create a target emulator ("make emulator") for emulator builds and another target device ("make device") for device builds. - Furthermore I have problems with the class browser and the go to implementation feature. Dev-C++ will always only jump to the declaration but never to the implementation. I tried it with the a hello world application, so it is really very basic code. Dear all: I'm new to c++ and Dev-cpp, although I have some basics on C and Pascal = from college classes (which I don't remember) and I currently do web = programming (PHP/MySql). I'm trying to build a small app in c++ to "backup" files and folders. = All it does is to copy the original file(s) or folder(s) to the same location = and changing the copied filename to "original_name bk todays_datetime.original_extension". For example, if I right-click the file index.php in explorer and select "Backup This File" it creates a copy of the file named index_bk_20061122172201.php in the same folder. I have already accomplished similar with a batch file and a vbs file, = but it opens a cmd window, vbs files don't get along well with anti-virus apps, = and I don't know how to add the context option to all files and folders = (except manually). This is probably simple to do in c++. My problem is: Where do I start ? = :) Tips, links, books, googles, would be much appreciated, or if you know = an app that does the job please let me know. TIA. Pedro. |

Actually, I don't know how to program in wxDevCPP or wxDev-C++. That's why I'm asking a solution in Win32. On 11/14/06, Sof.T <so...@ti...> wrote: > > Try using wxDev-C++ it is an advanced version of DevCpp which includes a > RAD designer for wxWidgets. > > Sof.T |

Thank you for you answer Per. As you guessed C# uses IE as an ActiveX control in order to create WebBrowser control. Using wxWidgets is indeed a good alternative, but I want to write it using DevCPP in Win32. On 11/14/06, Per Westermark <pw...@ia...> wrote: > > Go with the HTML view in wxWidgets. Go with the HTML view in wxWidgets. Then you can create an application that can be built and run on Win32, Mac OS X, Linux, OS/2, ... I haven't looked at the WebBrowser control in C#, but it is possible to use IE as an ActiveX control in Windows programs. However, if you want to use ActiveX controls, it is easier to use M$ tools. /Per W On Tue, 14 Nov 2006, Ahmed Han wrote: > Hello, > I think you know the WebBrowser control that C# has. Hello, I think you know the WebBrowser control that C# has. I want to create a WebBrowser control in my Win32 project using DevCPP. But i don't know where to start. Is CreateWindow() function adequate for creating it? If so, what window class should i use? |

I've met the same problem. Not all the C source code, but some of them(especially the short ones) could not be debugged. Maybe someone will help Mike and me^_^. Thanks in advance. Hi there - I'm trying to debug some C code from within Dev-C++. I hit F8 and Dev-C++ just locks up. CPU usage remains low. Is gdb installed by default? Is there anything I need to do to enable debugging besides setting the linker option? I tried installing Insight but I'm still getting the exact same result. I am completely out of ideas. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong, or what I need to do to fix the problem? Thanks! -Mike |

For some reason I can no longer customise the help menu, I really liked this feature and all of sudden none of the help files I select are appearing in the menu? Any ideas? Rory. |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi to all, this is maybe the first time I write to this list after some year as reader, but i need advice. ;) I have to write an application that performs a Crawl animation from a string of text. I tried using C# non-directx, but the result is not acceptable for a TV broadcast, it's not fluid enough. Do you know some place where I can look for related resources? I was thinking about OpenGL, wxWidgets or DirectX, I'm on the right way? Hello. =20 I am using the wxDev-C++ compiler. I created a wxFrame project. A resource = file was created with the following contents: #include <wx/msw/wx.rc>. I ch= ecked on the wxWidgets page and its says that this include is used if you w= ant the Windows XP look for an application. However, the compiler appears t= o be ignoring this resource file. If I make my own resource file with the s= ame contents in my project, it works! I tried getting an answer from the wx= Widgets forum, however, no answer. Can someone help please? _________________________________________________________________ Be one of the first to try Windows Live Mail. http://ideas.live.com/programpage.aspx?versionId=3D5d21c51a-b161-4314-9b0e-= 4911fb2b2e6d= |

Aloha from Honolulu, I have been using wxDevC++ for some time now. It is still in development and in fact just had a new version released. The forum can be found at: http://wxforum.shadonet.com/index.php?sid=de1d59fd84430c9b484ab002c520ecaf I tried to cut off everything after index, but got a Page Not Found error, so use the whole URL. I am not yet very conversant with the wxWidgets frames etc. But using it for console windows apps is pretty much the same as DevC++. The people at the forums have been extremely helpful and get my thumbs up. Good Luck and Happy Coding, Roger Furer Noorez Kassam wrote: > I have just started using wxDev-C++ and I was experimenting with some of > its features. I have just started using wxDev-C++ and I was experimenting with some of it= s features. For a test application I am building, I have a wxFrame and wxDi= alog in the project. In the wxFrame, when a button is pressed, I want to be= able to open the dialog. Is there some feature that I can use which will do= this for me automatically or do I have to do it my self? I check the sourc= e code to try and create an instance of the wxDialog myself however, commen= ts in the code say that if I add any custom headers, they will be removed. = Can someone offer any help? _________________________________________________________________ Be one of the first to try Windows Live Mail. http://ideas.live.com/programpage.aspx?versionId=3D5d21c51a-b161-4314-9b0e-= 4911fb2b2e6d= |

Just a message to say that the latest version of wxDev-C++ has been released. This one builds on DevCpp to provide support for Microsoft compilers, with support for more compilers coming in the future releases. It also provides a whole raft of bug fixes, not to mention the excellent wxWidgets RAD designer. It is good to see DevCpp looking alive and well. You can catch the release at http://wxdsgn.sourceforge.net/ Sof.T -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Check your allocations again. Your first loop - where you allocate - is using loop variable a. However, you assign the memory blocks using variable i (always=0). All allocations will then be assigned to the first entry in the array, resulting in a memory leak. The second loop will then try to free u ninitialized pointers. By the way - why loop backwards on 'a' and then look up using 'index-a'. /Per W On Thu, 2 Nov 2006, Daniel Yan wrote: > Hi, all, > > I met a problem when I free an array of points. Hi, all, I met a problem when I free an array of points. The source code is as following: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <string.h> char *http_parampos[255] = { "name=rule1", "protocol=tcp", "sourip=172.16.12.53", "sourport=3256", "desip=172.16.12.98", "desport=9685", }; int main(void) { int a = 5; int i = 0; char *value[7]; char param_name[40]; char *param_value; int index = 5; for (;a >= 0;a--) { strncpy(param_name, http_parampos[index - a], sizeof(param_name)); param_value = strchr(param_name,'='); if (param_value) { *param_value = '\0'; param_value++; value[i] = malloc(sizeof(param_value)+1); strcpy(value[i], param_value); printf("value[%d] = %s\n", i, value[i]); //free(value[i]); } i++; } value[6] = 0; i = 0; printf("come to error!\n"); for(i = 0; i < 6; i++) { free(value[i]); } getch(); return 0; } When I tried to free the memory, it breaks down. I have tried these code with gcc and it works. And if I free the memory just after I malloc the memory(see the coments line), it also works.Could anyone tell me what was wrong with my codes? Thanks in advance. BR, Daniel |
