Well I was told to "make > that an enum". > > How would I create the enum and use it in the switch statement? Enumerators are user defined integral types taking discrete, user defined values. For example: // Mon=0, Tue=1, Wed=2, Thu=8, Fri=9 Sat=20 Sun=21 enum Days { Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu=8, Fri, Sat=20, Sun}; The above is the type. It does not occupy space the same as int, or a class does not occupy space by itself. Its objects do: Days oneday=Wed; switch(oneday) { case Mon: // ... } > // Get error strings > switch (SomeError) > { > case ERROR_ONE: > DebugOut = _T("Error One!"); > break; > > case ERROR_TWO: > DebugOut = _T("Error Two!"); > break; > > default: > DebugOut = _T("Unspecified error!"); > break; > } What is that _T you are using all the time anyway? It seems to me something like "boxing" (as it happens in .NET for example). Based on the Santiago's note, it seems like wxWindows is a lot of effort to set up correctly. Hi. I'm new to the list , and was wanting to know how to change Dev-cpp = so that it uses the latest version of g++. I'm using Win98.=20 I have cygwin on my PC which uses the latest g++ - version 3.2. , and = just need to know the Cygwin directories that Dev-cpp's "binaries", = "libraries" and "C++ includes" should be repointed to. =20 Many thanks in advance ... :-) |

Ciao ) ( [_] Johnny |

What I mean is: When that simple program is compiled, under gcc 2.95 with mingw32, windows = terminates the application somwhere inside the line: s << endl; (standard error message, illegal operation or what it is called). In other = words "segmentation fault". This is when it's compiled with: -fvtable-thunks that flag has to be there for directx to work under gcc. (the COM part i gu= ess). Taking away that compiler option makes it run like a charm. It took me quit= e som time to figure out th eproblem, isolated from a large one :) The LAST think i removed was the -fvtable-thunks, who could know? Please someone, tell me how to fix it.=20 Thanks for the answer, I have no clue how to solve it, hope someone does! Hello all! Sorry to be such a pain regarding WxWINDOWS and Dev-C++, but.... I have been trying to compile some of the sample code included with the WxWINDOWS package. When I try compiling I get the following message (along with other things...) 4 C:\PROGRAM FILES\DEV-C++\include\wx\string.h:170 #error "Please define string case-insensitive compare for your OS/compiler" So... How do I define string case-insensitive compare in Dev-C++??? Thanks in advance... Mark Alpha II Service, Inc. 1312 Epworth Avenue Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068 614 868-5033 (Voice) 617 812-5838 (Fax) |

- Add multiple archives to projects fails if they are write protected. I have to add them one by one. As I am working with WinCvs it is normal to have files in read-only mode. - Is it possible to manage more than one proyect in dev-cpp, and stablish dependency one on others?. Thanks, Emilio Aguilar-Guti=E9rrez |

Hi, I have the following chunk of code, and I've been asked to make the switch (SomeError) statement use an enum. Well I was told to "make that an enum". How would I create the enum and use it in the switch statement? // Get error strings switch (SomeError) { case ERROR_ONE: DebugOut = _T("Error One!"); break; case ERROR_TWO: DebugOut = _T("Error Two!"); break; default: DebugOut = _T("Unspecified error!"); break; } _________________________________________________________________ Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963 |

Hi *, If you don't use Dev-C++ package and you want to use wxWindows sources 'b= y yourself', there are only a few things you must do in order to use wxWindows... Download wxWindows sources (from http://wxwindows.sourceforge.net/), download also 'extra.zip' file (from http://wxwindows.sourceforge.net/ al= so, but only if you don't use MSYS from http://mingw.sourceforge.net/) and th= en, FIRST OF ALL, please read the file: %WXWIN%/docs/msw/install.txt=20 You'll find everything you'll need in order to install it!!! Anyway here you have a 'Quick How To'... Set a few environment variables: =09WXWIN to the path where you decompressed wxWindows sources, =09if needed, BISON_SIMPLE & BISON_HAIRY to the complete path to files (complete/path/to/folder/plus/filename.extension) Edit %WXWIN%\src\makeg95.env, search through the options and set them to = the appropriate values to fit your system needs; I just changed the following= ones (keep in mind that these are MY values for WinAPI & MinGW installati= on ;o): =09MINGW32=3D1 =09MINGW32VERSION=3D3.2 =09YACC=3Dbison =09CPU=3Dpentium4 =09COMPPATHS =3D -I"D:/WinAPI/include" -I"D:/MinGW/include" =09Perhaps you may want to include these two also: -I"D:/MinGW/include/sys" -I"D:/MinGW/include/c++/3.2" ...And add the appropriate dirs to this one (keeping the original stuff, = of course): =09LDFLAGS =3D (...original stuff...) -L"D:/MinGW/lib" -L"D:/WinAPI/lib"= Then cd to %WXWIN%\src\msw and use make -f makefile.g95 clean / make -f makefile.g95 and wait... That's all!!!=20 You'll have wxWindows ready to use (there are a few more options to use t= he wxWindows DLL, so read the docs, please...) You'll only need to use a makefile like the following one, you only have = to modify 'OBJECTS' to fit your needs: =09# Makefile for wxWindows (Mingw32). =09# WXDIR =3D D:/wxWindows/v2.3.3 =09TARGET=3DMyApp =09OBJECTS =3D $(TARGET).o MyFrame.o MyOtherStuff.o =09include $(WXDIR)/src/makeprog.g95 Hope this helps Santy -----Original Message----- From: Carlos Garc=EDa del Monte [mailto:cg...@wo...]=20 Sent: jueves, 17 de octubre de 2002 22:24 To: ma...@al...; dev-cpp-users-list Subject: Re: [Dev-C++] WxWINDOW Oh, sorry, I thought you got the package from dev home page, which is a devpak. Hi, > If do you have a Manual or a link where I can find it.... I will be happy!. it's more about C++ in general and not Dev-Cpp in particular, but i found the "Thinking in C++" ebooks by Bruce Eckel very helpful. They are for free by the way and the URL to download them is http://www.mindview.net/Books/ . Best wishes, HaJö |
