At the end of the lesson students are able to:
A. Students can create a sense of movement and rhythm by painting or by drawing figures
that show movements

B. Students promote the importance of using movements and rhythm in arts

C. Students can design their own artwork using color, lines, and patterns.

Before we proceed to our new discussion for


today. Let us first have a review about our
lesson last meeting. May I know if you still

and Rhythm in Arts

Okay so let us read the definition of


Movement on the board

Movement is a two-dimensional art, occurs


when objects appeared to be moving.

Movement creates a sense of excitement and


helps direct the viewer’s eye around the
image.

The techniques that we can use to create an


art with movement is Diagonal or Curvy lines

What is it again? Diagonal or Curvy Lines

Another example of movement in art is the

Broken Color is a technique which involves


painting with small dabs of distinct color. It is
particularly effective for depicting a sense of
movement, as your eyes tend to jump between
all the different colors—like a vibration of
color.

Very good! The third one is the Scumbling it
is a technique which involves using a dry
brush to apply broken color over a surface.
Typically, light colors are scumbled across a
dark foundation. The result can be an ethereal
appearance which is perfect for painting
atmospheric effects and movement.

proceed to the Rhythm

Rhythm unify a work by repeating lines,


shapes, colors, or other elements of art.

An element may repeat once or multiple times


to create Rhythm or Pattern

Here are the example of different ways to


create Rhythm

Regular rhythm describes an artwork that


contains repeating elements with a specified
order or arrangement that can be measured.
Some regular rhythm examples include
evenly spaced windows or tiles.

Random rhythm describes an artwork that


contains repeating elements without a
specified order or arrangement. Some random
rhythm examples include splatters of paint or
shells on a beach.

Rhythm.

Flowing rhythm describes an artwork that


contains curved or circular elements that give
the art movement. Some flowing rhythm
examples include flowers, clouds, or waves.

E. Application

Now that we are done with our discussion let


us have a group activity, I will group you into
two groups

GROUP 1 : MOVEMENT FISH

Instruction: Draw fishes on a white paper


using movement and rhythm

Materials: MATERIALS
12” x 18” white paper
Liquid tempera paint
Black liquid tempera paint mixed with some
water OR a black oil pastel/crayon
Small tip round brush
Metallic oil pastels or metallic liquid tempera
paint
