Apply for a Photo ID Card
Lawyers and paralegals of the Law Society of Ontario are encouraged to purchase Law Society Photo ID cards.
The credit-card size photo identification card identifies the carrier as a licensed lawyer or paralegal of the Law Society of Ontario. It is available only to lawyers and paralegals whose rights and privileges are not suspended. The photo identification card is the property of the Law Society. The card must be returned to the Law Society upon demand, surrender, or revocation of licence.
How to Apply
Submit by mail
Lawyers and paralegals should mail their completed Photo Identification Card Application and a passport sized photo to the Law Society.
Photos
The photo submitted must be:
- No older than three months
- Black and white or colour
- Certified by another Law Society lawyer or paralegal whose rights and privileges are not suspended
Important! The photo provided will not be returned
Processing Time
Allow 4 to 6 weeks to process a complete application form.
