CP asymmetries in chargino production and decay: the three-body decay case / Bartl, A. (Vienna U.) ; Fraas, H. (Wurzburg U.) ; Hesselbach, S. (Wurzburg U.) ; Hohenwarter-Sodek, K. (Vienna U.) ; Kernreiter, T. (Vienna U.) ; Moortgat-Pick, G. (CERN)
We study CP violation in chargino production and decay in the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) with complex parameters at an e^+ e^- linear collider with longitudinally polarized beams. We propose CP-sensitive asymmetries by means of triple product correlations and study their dependence on the complex parameters M_1 and mu. [...]

Precise predictions for same-sign W-boson scattering at the LHC / Ballestrero, Alessandro (INFN, Turin) ; Biedermann, Benedikt (Wurzburg U.) ; Brass, Simon (Siegen U.) ; Denner, Ansgar (Wurzburg U.) ; Dittmaier, Stefan (Freiburg U.) ; Frederix, Rikkert (Munich, Tech. Vector-boson scattering processes are of great importance for the current run-II and future runs of the Large Hadron Collider. The presence of triple and quartic gauge couplings in the process gives access to the gauge sector of the Standard Model (SM) and possible new-physics contributions there. [...]

PDF bias and flavor dependence in TMD distributions / Bury, Marcin (Unlisted, PL) ; Hautmann, Francesco (Antwerp U. ; Oxford U. ; CERN) ; Leal-Gomez, Sergio (Vienna U.) ; Scimemi, Ignazio (Madrid U.) ; Vladimirov, Alexey (Regensburg U. ; Madrid U.) ; Zurita, Pia (Regensburg U.)
Transverse momentum dependent (TMD) distributions match collinear parton density functions (PDF) in the limit of small transverse distances, which is accounted for by global extractions of TMD distributions. We study the influence of the collinear PDF value and uncertainties on the determination of unpolarized TMD distributions and the description of Drell-Yan (DY) and Z-boson production measurements at low transverse momenta. Light stops, blind spots, and isospin violation in the MSSM / Crivellin, Andreas (CERN ; U. Bern, AEC ; Bern U.) ; Hoferichter, Martin (Darmstadt, Tech. Hochsch. ; Darmstadt, EMMI ; U. In the framework of the MSSM, we examine several simplified models where only a few superpartners are light. This allows us to study WIMP--nucleus scattering in terms of a handful of MSSM parameters and thereby scrutinize their impact on dark matter direct-detection experiments. [...]

Jet cross sections at the LHC and the quest for higher precision / Bellm, Johannes (Lund U.) ; Buckley, Andy (Glasgow U.) ; Chen, Xuan (Zurich U.) ; Gehrmann-De Ridder, Aude (Zurich U. ; Zurich, ETH) ; Gehrmann, Thomas (Zurich U.) ; Glover, Nigel (Durham U., IPPP) ; Huss, Alexander (CERN) ; Pires, Joao (Lisbon, CFTP) ; Höche, Stefan (SLAC ; Fermilab) ; Huston, Joey (Michigan State U.) et al.
We perform a phenomenological study of $Z$ plus jet, Higgs plus jet and di-jet production at the Large Hadron Collider. We investigate in particular the dependence of the leading jet cross section on the jet radius as a function of the jet transverse momentum. [...]

NLO angularity distributions with recoil / Budhraja, Ankita (IISER, Bhopal) ; Jain, Ambar (IISER, Bhopal) ; Procura, Massimiliano (Vienna U. ; CERN)
Angularities are event shapes whose sensitivity to the splitting angle of a collinear emission is controlled by a continuous parameter $b$, with $ -1 < b < \infty$. When measured with respect to the thrust axis, this class of QCD observables includes thrust ($b=1$) and jet broadening ($b=0$), the former being insensitive to the recoil of soft against collinear radiation, while the latter being maximally sensitive to it. There are many possibilities for new physics beyond the Standard Model that feature non-standard Higgs sectors. These may introduce new sources of CP violation, and there may be mixing between multiple Higgs bosons or other new scalar bosons. [...]

Hybrid Fluid Models from Mutual Effective Metric Couplings / Kurkela, Aleksi (CERN ; Stavanger U.) ; Mukhopadhyay, Ayan (Vienna, Tech. U. ; Indian Inst. Tech., Madras) ; Preis, Florian (Vienna, Tech. U.) ; Rebhan, Anton (Vienna, Tech. U.) ; Soloviev, Alexander (Vienna, Tech. U.)
Motivated by a semi-holographic approach to the dynamics of quark-gluon plasma which combines holographic and perturbative descriptions of a strongly coupled infrared and a more weakly coupled ultraviolet sector, we construct a hybrid two-fluid model where interactions between its two sectors are encoded by their effective metric backgrounds, which are determined mutually by their energy-momentum tensors. We derive the most general consistent ultralocal interactions such that the full system has a total conserved energy-momentum tensor in flat Minkowski space and study its consequences in and near thermal equilibrium by working out its phase structure and its hydrodynamic modes..

We report on an attempt to reproduce the observation of $\beta^-$-delayed proton emission from $^{11}$Be through detection of the final state nucleus $^{10}$Be with accelerator mass spectrometry. Twelve samples were collected at the ISOLDE facility at CERN at different separator settings, allowing tests of different sources of contamination to be carried out. [...]

The mechanism of antiproton-nucleus annihilation at rest is not fully understood, despite substantial previous experimental and theoretical work. In this study we used slow extracted, sub-keV antiprotons from the ASACUSA apparatus at CERN to measure the charged particle multiplicities and their energy deposits from antiproton annihilations at rest on three different nuclei: carbon, molybdenum and gold.
