Population & Public Health

We work to address the harms associated with the unregulated drug supply and advise on policy and practice to promote health and reduce chronic disease and preventable injury in the province.

Our service line

Our service line includes two teams working under a framework of population health, with a lens for the social and structural determinants of health. We collaborate to promote and enhance the protective factors affecting mental health and resiliency.

  • Harm Reduction and Substance Use Services works to address the harms associated with the unregulated drug supply including poisoning/overdose and communicable disease. Eliminating stigma is a core value of the program and is embedded in all aspects of the work.

  • Prevention and  Health Promotion informs and advises on policy and practice in order to promote health and reduce chronic disease and preventable injury throughout the province.
