Parton distributions with threshold resummation / Bonvini, Marco (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Marzani, Simone (MIT, Cambridge, CTP) ; Rojo, Juan (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Rottoli, Luca (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Ubiali, Maria (Cambridge U.) ; Ball, Richard D. (U. Edinburgh, Higgs Ctr. Theor. Phys. ; CERN) ; Bertone, Valerio (CERN) ; Carrazza, Stefano (Milan U. ; INFN, Milan) ; Hartland, Nathan P. (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.)
We construct a set of parton distribution functions (PDFs) in which fixed-order NLO and NNLO calculations are supplemented with soft-gluon (threshold) resummation up to NLL and NNLL accuracy respectively, suitable for use in conjunction with any QCD calculation in which threshold resummation is included at the level of partonic cross sections. These resummed PDF sets, based on the NNPDF3.0 analysis, are extracted from deep-inelastic scattering, Drell-Yan, and top quark pair production data, for which resummed calculations can be consistently used. Momentum-space resummation for transverse observables and the Higgs $p_\perp$ at N$^3$LL+NNLO / Bizon, Wojciech (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Re, Emanuele (CERN ; Annecy, LAPTH) ; Rottoli, Luca (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Torrielli, Paolo (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin)
We present an approach to the momentum-space resummation of global, recursive infrared and collinear safe observables featuring kinematic zeros away from the Sudakov limit. In the hadro-production of a generic colour singlet, we consider the family of inclusive observables which do not depend on the rapidity of the radiation, prime examples being the transverse momentum of the singlet, and $\phi^*$ in Drell-Yan pair production. Parton distributions for the LHC Run II / NNPDF Collaboration
We present NNPDF3.0, the first set of parton distribution functions (PDFs) determined with a methodology validated by a closure test. NNPDF3.0 uses a global dataset including HERA-II deep-inelastic inclusive cross-sections, the combined HERA charm data, jet production from ATLAS and CMS, vector boson rapidity and transverse momentum distributions from ATLAS, CMS and LHCb, W+c data from CMS and top quark pair production total cross sections from ATLAS and CMS. Threshold resummation of new partonic channels at next-to-leading power / van Beekveld, Melissa (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Vernazza, Leonardo (INFN, Turin ; CERN) ; White, Chris D. (Queen Mary, U. of London)
Collider observables involving heavy particles are subject to large logarithmic terms near threshold, which must be summed to all orders in perturbation theory to obtain sensible results. Relatively recently, this resummation has been extended to next-to-leading power in the threshold variable, using a variety of approaches. [...]

A general method for the resummation of event-shape distributions in $e^{+} e^{-}$ annihilation / Banfi, Andrea (Sussex U.) ; McAslan, Heather (Sussex U.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Zanderighi, Giulia (Oxford U., Theor. Phys. ; CERN)
We present a novel method for resummation of event shapes to next-to-next-to-leading-logarithmic (NNLL) accuracy. We discuss the technique and describe its implementation in a numerical program in the case of e^+e^- collisions where the resummed prediction is matched to NNLO. [...]

We present a new set of parton distributions, NNPDF3.1, which updates NNPDF3.0, the first global set of PDFs determined using a methodology validated by a closure test. The update is motivated by recent progress in methodology and available data, and involves both. [...]

Logarithmic accuracy of parton showers: a fixed-order study / Dasgupta, Mrinal (Manchester U.) ; Dreyer, Frédéric A. (MIT, Cambridge, CTP) ; Hamilton, Keith (University Coll. London ; CERN) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Salam, Gavin P. (CERN ; MIT)
We formulate some first fundamental elements of an approach for assessing the logarithmic accuracy of parton-shower algorithms based on two broad criteria: their ability to reproduce the singularity structure of multi-parton matrix elements, and their ability to reproduce logarithmic resummation results. We illustrate our approach by considering properties of two transverse momentum ordered final-state showers, examining features up to second order in the strong coupling. [...]

Next-to-leading non-global logarithms in QCD / Banfi, Andrea (Sussex U.) ; Dreyer, Frédéric A. (Oxford U., Ctr. Quantum Comp.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN)
Non-global logarithms arise from the sensitivity of collider observables to soft radiation in limited angular regions of phase space. Their resummation to next-to-leading logarithmic (NLL) order has been a long standing problem and its solution is relevant in the context of precision all-order calculations in a wide variety of collider processes and observables. Charm in Deep-Inelastic Scattering / Ball, Richard D. (U. Edinburgh, Higgs Ctr. Theor. Phys. ; CERN) ; Bonvini, Marco (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Rottoli, Luca (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.)
We show how to extend systematically the FONLL scheme for inclusion of heavy quark mass effects in DIS to account for the possible effects of an intrinsic charm component in the nucleon. We show that when there is no intrinsic charm, FONLL is equivalent to S-ACOT to any order in perturbation theory, while when an intrinsic charm component is included FONLL is identical to ACOT, again to all orders in perturbation theory.
