C6: POTABLE WATER PUMP SYSTEM
PART I : GENERAL
A. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Work of this section as shown or specified, shall be in accordance with the requirements of the whole set of contract
documents.
B. SCOPE OF WORK
This section covers provision and installation of potable water pump system inclusive water filter and purifier, pressure
tank system and pump electric panel and installation.
1. Section included:
a. Provision of system drawings based on system provided.
b. Provision of all equipment, tools, supporting material and equipment.
c. Installation of system by skillful workmanship.
d. Commissioning and testing of entire potable water pump system.
2. Section related: Section C1: Electrical and Section C3: Plumbing

D. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
1. Collect potable water from deep well by potable water collection tank (existing) through water filter and purifier with
capacity 2 liters per second. Water supply from deep well will be controlled by sufficient floating valve.
2. Distribution pump will pump the water from collection tank for distribution with sufficient pressure and capacity
through 1,000 liters pressure tank. It will have 2 potable that are the pump is brand-new pump. Both pump will be
jointed and working together that controlled by pressure switches and level control in collection tank.
3. The potable water pumps are able to working automatically and manually.
4. The pipe installation shall have by pass pipe connections.
5. The maximum pump capacity should have 7.5 to 8 liters per second on 40 M head because it will supply the water
to 4 units fire hydrant also.
E. SUBMITTALS
1. Submit following items in accordance with section A6: Submittals.

2. Product data: submit manufacturer’s technical data/ literature for each item product.
3. Shop drawing: submit detail shop drawing for the fabrication and installation of the units, including details of
support conditions, include detail of associated work in conjunction with the units.
4. Samples:
a. All joints fittings such as rubber mounting, flexible joints & bolt.
b. Supporting material such as pump based, clamp, bracket, etc.
c. Others special tools requirement by units such as ball valve, check valve, strainer, foot valve, water level
control, water pressure control, etc as necessary.
5. Certificates: Submit manufacture certification of testing that an independent laboratory has tested the material.

6. Qualification Data: Submit installer qualification verifying years of experience, include list of product having similar
scope of work identifying by name, location, date, reference name and phone number.
7. Manufacture instruction and manual guide: Submit manufacturer’s printed instruction and manual guidebook.
F. WARRANTY
Following contract agreement and manufacture’s warranty. Contractor must submit warranty card on final handling over.
PART II : PRODUCT
A. MANUFACTURER’S
Acceptable manufacturers: product of “ GRUNDFOS”, “EBARA” of equal approved for the pump.
A water filter and water purifier acceptable manufacturers is product of “CUNO” or equal approved and the pressure
tank acceptable manufacturers is locally product with pressure test certification and approved.
B. POTABLE WATER PUMP
1. Using for 1st pump and working together with the 2nd pump.
2. The pump specified is Grundfos product type CR8-40 and CR16-50 (in phase 2) or equal approved.
C. WATER FILTER AND PURIFIER
1. Acceptable product of water filter and purifier is “Cuno” with capacity 2 liters per second.
2. The type of potable water filter and purifier accordance to the potable water existing condition.
3. It should be able to filtering the water, softening the water and reduce the un_mutual bacteria content accordance
to purifier water regulation.
D. WATER PRESSURE TANK
1. Capacity of water pressure tank shall not less than 1,000 liters.
2. Made by steel plate with appropriate thickness to carry the water pressures test up to 15 Kg/M 2. It must be coated
by powdered coating or other finishes anti corrosive and approved.
3. The water pressure tank should have pressure switches, pressure gauge and membrane.
E. ELECTRICAL PUMP PANEL
1. The electrical pump panel must be able to operated by automatically and manual operation.
2. It is able to control by pressures switches and level control.
3. It must have motor protector device from failure on one phase; rivers back rotation of phase, over load and over
heated.
4. It must be able to working on star and delta if required by pump motor.
F. PIPES AND VALVES
It has to be complying and accordance to the section C3: Plumbing.

PART IV : EXECUTION
A. EXAMINATION
Examine support system and adjacent installation for condition that would adversely affect to execution. Do not proceed
until unsatisfactory conditions are corrected. Beginning of execution will constitute acceptance of existing condition.
B. PREPARATION
Conditions unit as required by fabricator, prepare all material and equipment, work shop drawing for guidance and other
supporting material or tools.
C. INSTALLATION
1. Install in final shop drawing and manufacturer’s instruction.

2. Do not install units which are damaged or which do not match to the approved sample.
3. Lift units in place carefully.
4. Install units plumb, level in true alignment on proper base and tight fit.
5. Joint between pump and pipe must utilize flexible joint to reduce the vibration and maintainable.
6. Line up the cable, plumbing and control cable installation to get neatly installation.
7. The electrical panel pump has to be protected from wet.
D. CLEANING
1. Clean manufacturer’s protective coverings and entire units.

2. Clean up the entire area from debris and rubbish.
E. PROTECTION
Protect the installation from damage during construction period so that it will be without any indication of use or
damaged at time of acceptance.
F. COMMISSIONING AND TESTING
Commissioning and testing accordance to all system requirements has to perform. Site supervisor will provide checklist
on commissioning and testing requirements.
