SPECIFICATION FOR

PLUMBING, SANITARY & FIRE PROTECTION

* SCOPE OF WORKS

furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary for plumbing and sewer system
work shown on the drawings and specified herein.

work is subject to form of agreement and bills of quantities, conditions of contract and special
provisions.

the work shall include, but not necessary limited to the following :-

sanitary plumbing system including soil, waste and vent lines, stacks, vents through roof,
floor drains, cleanout. cold and hot water lines to fixtures, plumbing fixtures, cold water
lines, water heater, insulation, connections, to city mains, testing of systems and equipment as
indicated on drawings.

* REGULATIONS AND ORDINANCES

all plumbing work shall be installed in strict compliance with the following codes,
regulations and ordinances.

1. M.P.W.
2. M.E.W.
3. BRITISH STANDARD
4. NATIONAL PLUMBING CODE
5. BOCA PLUMBING CODE REGULATIONS SHALL BE THE MINIMUM
STANDARD.

* DRAWING AND INSTRUCTION MANUALS
contractor shall provide copies of all drawings necessary for maintenance, engineering and
installation work in the quantity specified in the general condition of this contract. a suitable
instrument and device identification sheet shall accompany these drawings.
contractor’s final “as-built” drawings, as approved by the engineer, shall accurately
show the construction and connections as shipped.
nameplates and escutcheon designation shall be down on contactor’s developed
drawings which shall accurately define nameplate engravings to be used for each
device.
contactor’s schematic and elementary diagrams, except for simple circuits, shall
include a written description of the operation intended, and shall show the outgoing
terminals of the equipment being furnished, as well as the requested or required
remote connections.

* GENERAL
the contract drawings indicate the general arrangement of the plumbing. the contract shall be
responsible for all appurtenances and specialty items required for a complete and operating
system. any omission to a complete system must be clarified at the time of bid or the
contractor will be responsible for providing same. details of proposed departures from
drawings due to the actual field conditions or other causes shall be submitted to the engineer
for approval before installation is made. the contractor shall be responsible for the proper
fitting of materials and equipment in the building as indicated without substantial alteration.
the contractor shall be responsible to connect the proposed system with external ministry line.
carefully examine all architectural, structural, heating and electrical plans and
specifications and carry on work in such a manner as not to delay or interfere with
the work indicated thereon.
the contractor shall keep an accurate drawing record the exact location and elevation
of all above ground piping installed under this contract and shall, upon completion of
the plumbing systems, furnish these records to owner.
arrange for openings in the buildings for brining in and installing all equipment
furnished under this contract.
furnish all hoists, runaways, scaffolding and equipment necessary for the
performance of this work.

1. WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM:

1.1 EXTERNAL WORKS:

1.1.1 Pipelines and protection of them:

Fresh water supply line from the city main to the Flow Meter shall
Be of polyethylene HOTUBE pipe, according to ASTMD3309
(KSS157/83) with maximum SDR of 11; working pressure of not less
than 14.0 bars (300 psi) at 23 degree C and 7.0 bars (100 psi) at 82.2
degree C. The system shall be installed by poly-lock fittings.

Fresh water line from the water Flow Meter to the foundation of
the building shall be made of copper, conforming to B.S. 2871 (Table Y)
with compression fittings or with soldered or brazed connection to B.S.
864; B.S. 219 and B.S. 1845 with end feed capillary or compression
fittings according to B.S. 864, Part 2. Filling line shall be protected with
plastic coating, marking blue, factory applied.

Fresh water line from tanker filling point shall be of galvanized steel,
heavy duty, Class “C”, conforming to B.S.1387. it shall be protected
from outside by anti-corrosion adhesive tape approved, accepted and
available in Kuwait, with proper and workman like overlaping.

HOTUBE and copper pipes shall be protected by sleeves where laid


below roads and parking areas. The sleeves shall be of black steel,
heavy duty, Class “C”, conforming to B.S.1387. The sleeve shall have
an anti-corrosion protection from bitumen coating on inside and from
tape wrapping on outside surface.

1.1.2 Water Meter & Filling Connections:

The work must include the connection to the existing city main.

Tanker filling point to fresh water shall be made according to M.P.W. Standard
Drawing No. N/682.

Water Flow Meter Box to fresh water shall be made according to M.P.W. Standard
Drawing no.N/995.

1.1.3 Valves and Valve Chambers:

Stopcocks, gate valves, check valves, ball-valves and any other device serving as
isolating valve or other purpose shall be of copper alloy, conforming to B.S.5154.

1.2 INTERNAL WORKS :

1.2.1 Water Tanks:

POLYETHYLENE WATER STORAGE TANKS

Scope of work :

1. Furnish all labour, materials, tools and equipment necessary for erection of
polyethylene water tanks complete with foundation. Works is subject to form of
agreement and bill of quantities, conditions of contract and special provision.

2. Regulation and Ordinances All work shall be installed in strict compliance with MEW
regulations.
3. Drawing & instruction manual contractor shall provide copies of all drawings
nesessary for maintenance, engineering and installation work in the quantity specified
in the general condition of this contract.
4. Materials : As per local regulation No. 1972/37 and as the folowing :

5. Accessories :

The tank shall be provided with the following accessories :-


(A) Air vents.
(B) Access cover.
(C) Float valve at the inlet with gate valve.
(D) C" overflow + drain.

6. Capacity
Capacity of each tank shall be as shown in the drawing.
7. The materials of the tank shall be as shown in the drawing.
8. Test method shall be as per astm D638-98 & KSS 37/1972

1.2.2 Pipelines and protection of them: (cont’d)

Fresh water supply lines from tank shall pass on the roof, exposed. the line shall be of
copper, conforming to B.S. 2871 (Table Y) with soldered or brazed connection to
B.S.864, B.S.219 and B.S.1845; with end feed capillary and compression fittings
according to B.S.864, Part 2.

Fresh water supply lines exposed to sun shall be protected with a tube of castellated
(air channelled) inner profile; this tube shall be of plastic; colour; white, factory
applied.

Fresh water supply lines on the roof shall be provided with proper loops of expansion;
calculation should be presented about the dimensions.

Wherever the fresh water supply line crosses the expansion joints of the roof, sleeves
must be provided.

Hot and cold water pipes and fitting inside building shall be CPVC to DIN (8079,8080
Series5,6) and pipe fitting to DIN 8063 .

All pipelines inside the building (inclusive of tanker filling lines) shall pass in shafts,
false ceiling or shall be hidden in a reasonable way.

Cold water lines inside the building shall be wrapped with anti-corrosion
insulating adhesive tape, approved, accepted and available in Kuwait.

Thermal insulation shall be furnished for all hot water pipes. The insulation material
shall have a thermal conductivity not exceeding 0.04 W/m. centigrade degree. The
material shall be like foam rubber and shall have a self-extinguishing fire rating. The
insulation shall not require a separate vapour barrier. It shall be applied in accordance
with the manufacturer’s recommendations with slide fastener. Thickness shall be
according to relevant ISO standards.

All protecting and insulating work shall be applied after the system has been tested
and proved water tight.

Hydraulic calculation of the pressure drop has to be submitted for Approval

1.2.3 Valves :

Stopcocks, gate valves, check valves and any other device Serving as isolating valve or
other purpose shall be of copper allloy according to B.S. 5154.

Each sanitary group shall be provided with isolating valve; the location should be
comfortable and proper for maintenance purpose. The isolating valves shall be the
same type like the handles of the wash basins (GROPHE or VENLO – refer to
Chapter4).

1.2.4 Filters:

Filters to drinking water coolers shall be tasted and odour free type. They shall have
globe valve on inlet side. The filter shall consist of one cellous bonded activated
carbon disposable cartridge, plus 12 nos. cartridges as a stock and stainless steel
casing. All as manufactured by CUNO Inc., USA. Model No. according to capacity of
the drinking water cooler.

Filters to sink shall have a rated capacity of not less than5.0litres/min at a pressure of
3.0 bars. The filter shall have a globe valve on inlet side and a tap on outlet side.
The filter shall consist of one cellous bonded activated carbon disposable cartridge,
plus 12 cartridges as a stock and molded plastic casing. All as per manufactured by
CUNO Inc., U.s.a. Model No. AP200 with AP217 cartridges or equal and approved.

1.2.5 Drinking Water Cooler:

The distribution of drinking Water Coolers shall be as shown on drawings.

The casing shall be self- containing stainless steel body, heavily protected against
corrosion and the external surface shall have a finishing of required and approved
colours. The equipment shall conform to M.E.W. Electrical and Refrigerating
Requirements.

DWC Type “C” shall supply 6 remote foundations (water taps) and white
vitreous china trays of approved manufacturer.
The chilled water pipelines from the DWC to the fountains shall be
insulated with a minimum thickness of 15mm. Foam insulating material with
a thermal conductivity of not more than 0.035 W/m. centigrade degree at 10
centigrade degree.

1.2.6 Electric Water Heater:

The distribution of the Electric Water Heaters shall be as shown on the drawings.

Storage type Electric Water heaters shall conform to M.E.W. Requirements. The
working and test pressure of the unit shall be guaranteed and approved by an official
testing authority and must be shown in the supplier’s catalogue. Each unit shall be
further subjected to a pressure test at site before final approval. Water heaters shall
have 50 Lit. and 80 lit. storage capacity.

Heaters shall have all controls, such as thermometer, etc., and safety devices, such as
vent pipe, high temperature power cut-off, etc., as specified in electrical specifications
for Electric Water Heaters. The material of the vent pipe shall be copper, conforming
to B.S.2871 (Table).

The vent pipe shall exceed above the water level of the fresh water feeding tanks.

1.2.7 Special Requirements:

For the special requirements of the Dental Room follow the medical
specifications and the requirements of the relevant department of Ministry of Health.

2. BRACKISH WATER & IRRIGATION SYSTEM

2.1 EXTERNAL WORKS:

2.1.1 Pipelines and protection of them :

Brackish water line from the city main to the irrigation points shall be
unplasticised PVC for cold water services under hot climates, according to
B.S.3505 and Din 19531.

Hydraulic calculation shall be submitted to present the pressure


drop providing proper working of the irrigation points.

The pipelines shall be protected by sleeves where laid below roads and
parking areas. The sleeves shall be of black steel, heavy duty, Class “C”,
conforming to B.S. 1387. The sleeves shall have an anti-corrosion protection
from bitumen coating on inside and from tape wrapping on outside surface.

If there is any possibility, the irrigation line should be designed as a ring line
with proper distribution to sections.

2.1.2 Filling Connections:

The work must include the connection to the existing brackish water city main.

2.1.3 Valves & Valve Chambers:

Gatevalves and any other device, serving as isolating valve, shall be of copper alloy,
conforming to B.S.5154.

Underground valve chambers shall be made according to M.P.W. Standard Drawing No.
N/928.

2.1.4 IRRIGATION POINTS

Irrigation points shall be installed as “Rain-Bird 33 DNP” non-potable Quick Coupling


Valves, dia 20.0 mm; with the following accessories:-

SH-Swivel Hose Elbow 2049; and


Pressure Hose Gauge Assembly OR
An equal and approved.

2.1.5 FILLING CONNECTION

The work shall include the connection to the propodes brackish water city
Main .Tanker filling point to the brackish water shall be made according
To M.P.W standard Drawing No.N/682 .
Tanker filling line shall be UPVC-High pressure pipes to DIN 8062
Series 5PN 16 Bar complete with pipe fitting to DIN 8061.

2.2 internal works:-


water tanks

A) fiberglass water tank shall be provided as per local regulation no 1972/3 complete
with float valve to B.S 1212- PART 1

B) The tank ahall be fiberglass material by inverted beams with a height of not less than
0.2 m.

The tank shall be at the roof and supported by invert beams with a height of not less
than 0.2 m.

C) The tank shall be provided with air vent opening, manhole with cover, two filling
pipes, drain and covers, overflow and connection to pipes according to M.P.W.
Standard drawing no .n/1036

3. Sanitary Drainage system

3.1 External Works

3.1.1 Pipe lines

for underground waste soil and water pipes installation around the buildig, pipes shall
be UPVC to BS 4660 or DIN 19534 , 8062 series 3-6 Bar under ground pipes shall be
encasement by 15 Cm plane concrete around pipes expansion joint to be done at the
location of pipe and fitting connections alternatively the contractor may use UPVC
pipework equal or better to international standards if an alternative jointing
system/type is proposed the contractor should provide complete details to prove that
the system is complete in its range of fittings, all pipes exposed to direct sunlight shall
be cast iron to B.S 416.

In accordance with the general conditions section, any additional piping or fittings
required to make an alternative piping system workable shall be at no extra cost or time
extension or any deviation from the contract documents only one system shall be used.

The work must include the connection to the existing manholes of the existing city
main.

3.1.2 Cleaning Facilities:

Ground clean-outs shall be provided for sufficient cleaning at each connection of outlet
to the main line, and at each 12M. distance where the main line straight. The ground
clean-out shall be of Dura-Coated cast iron with adjustable scoriated square cast iron
top ABS gasket and seal plug with non-tilt tractor cover. All as per Jay R.Smith
(U.S.A.), Model No;4240-S or an equal and approved.

The cast iron body shall be surrounded and supported by concrete blocks. (According
to M.P.W. Drawing No.SE/PD/20, as guidance) or an equal and approved.

The main line shall be terminated in a manhole, which is at a suitable location to


connect the line to the external city line.

The pipeline in the manhole shall be provided with hatch box and inspection chamber
(Refer to M.P.W. Drawing No.SE/PD/20 as guidance).

Manholes shall be constructed according to M.P.W. Standard Drawing No. N/886/B.

Manhole Covers and Frames shall be according to M.P.W. Standard Drawing No.
N/1007; product of Kuwait Foundry Co.

3.1.3 SEWAGE HOLDING TANK :


shall be as MPW- specification ( nos, dimentions as shown on drawings ) .

3.2 INTERNAL WORKS:

3.2.1 Pipelines:

Drain pipes, branches and fittings inside, building shall U.P.V.C conforming to BS
4660 OR Din
DIN ( 19531 , 19534 , 8062 services .3 , 6 bar ).
- Drain pipes and branches inside laboratories. Till the main line out side building shall
be U.P.V.C pipes confirming to Din 8061,8062 services1 and fitting from the same
materials, confirming to Din 8063

Drain pipes, vent stacks and fittings below ground shall be of hot dipped, bitumen
coated cast iron, according to B.S. 437 (or ASTM-A-74 Extra Heavy); product of
Kuwait Foundry Co., Drawing No. KF 2265/PR-292. Pipes shall be with bubbles ends
and cast iron coupler body to ASTM-A-48; Gasket to ASTM-C-564; Stainless Steel
Clamp Bands to AISI-301; Screws to AISI-305. All as per manufactured by Jay Smith.
OR TIME-SAVER connections to B.S. 6087; as per manufactured by Glywed or an
equal and approved.
The entire vertical sanitary drainage shall be concealed into the wall or shall pass in
shaft.

3.2.2 Cleaning Facilities:

Floor drains shall be of cast iron with integral trap and no hub outlet, supplied with
Dura coated cast iron body, according to “SMITH”

Catalogue No.2095 BHQ 6PB and floor drain shall be supplied with adjustable
strainer head with solid hinged scoriated polished bronze cover according to “SMITH”
suffix-bhq OR AN EQUAL AND APPROVED.

Floor clean-out shall be provided at necessary locations for proper cleaning and at
every change in the direction of flow, which is greater than 45 degree. Clean-out shall
be of Dura coated cast iron with round adjustable scoriated nickle bronze top.
“SMITH” Catalgoue No.4020-PB or an equal and approved.

Wall clean-out shall be of Dura coated cast iron caulk ferrule and cast iron lead seal
plug with stainless steel cover and screw, according to “SMITH” Catalogue No.4422-
SS or an equal and approved.

3.2.3 Ventilation:

Ventilating of the sanitary drainage system shall be solved by plumbing vents which
terminate above the roof level. The vandal proof design shall elimate the possibility of
anything dropped or thrown down the vent openings. As per “SMITH” Catalogue
No.1748 cast iron vent cap or an equal and approved.

3.2.4 Miscellaneous Requirements:

All connections between drain pipes shall be at an acute angle in the direction of flow,
for right angle connection 90 degree sweep or wye and 45 degree bend shall be used.

Locations of floor drains are tentative. They may be shifted to a more suitable
location, if necessary, with permission of the Engineer-in-charge.

Slope of drain pipe dia.80 and smaller shall not be less than 2% or not more than 4%.
Slope of drain pipe dia.100 and larger shall neither be less than 1% nor more than 2%.

4. SANITARY FIXTURES:

4.1 WASH BASIN FOR SANITARY GROUP ATTACHED TO CLASS ROOMS,


ROOMS FOR D ‫ة‬COR, HOBBY & DRAFTING AND FOR THE PUBLIC AREA:
Wash basin for cold water: Material: vitreous china; Colour: white; Dimensions :600 x
500mm., with one centre hole, pillar tap with TREFLOR handle, Marking; blue:
MOUSSEUR; chromium plated brass chain, waste trap 1¼” with tail piece and plug,
chromium plated brass bottle trap 1¼” (75 mm. Water seal) with tail piece and
escutcheon to wall.

4.2 WASH BASIN IN SANITARY GROUP ATTACHED TO MULTRIPURPOSE
HALL FOR THE STAFF IN THE GUARD HOUSE AND IN MEDICAL ROOMS:

Wash Basin for hot and cold water; Material: vitreous china: colour: white Dimensions:
600 x 500 mm, with monoblock mixer fittings chromium plated pop-up waste trap; tail
piece and escutcheon to wall.

4.3 W.C. EUROPEAN TYPE FOR THE STAFF FLUSHPIPE:

W.C. Suite: Material: vitreous china; color: white Dimensions: around 655 x 445mm.,
height 380mm .

4.4 W.C. SQUATING TYPE, FOR PUBLIC AREA, FOR THE PUPILS AND FOR
THE GUARD HOUSE FLUSH PIPE:

W.C. Suite: Material: vitreous china; Colour: white; Dimensions: 600 x 450mm with
flush tank from the same mandfacturer equiped with start and stop dal – servo – set
37078 or equal and approved .

4.5 SHOWER :

Shower Tray: Material: vitreous china; Colour: white; Dimensions: 700 x 700mm.,
with shower set consisting of riser pipe exposed and shower head, chain, plug and
shower fitting connection to drainage line.

4.6 KITCHEN SINK:

For Sink’s built-in-counter refer to Joinery Specifications; with wall mounted mixer
fitting, chromium plated brass strainer, waste trap, tail piece and escutcheon to wall.

4.7 TAPS TO THE ABLUTION ROOM:

Wall mounted faucet with ½” cold water connection, spout and aerator.

4.8 BATHROOM ACCESSORIES:

All W.C. compartments shall be provided with water tap and/or hand held hose spray
combination.
All public and staff areas shall be provided with Mirrors, Shelves, Soap Trays or other
necessary accessories.

4.9 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Plumbing fixtures shall be of the best quality, fabricated by the manufacturer of


established reputation, such as; ARMITAGE-SHANKS, WENTWORTH, ROCA,
GANDOLA or IDEAL STANDARD –INGE.

Fittings shall be of the best quality, fabricated by a manufacturer of established
reputation, such as; GROHE, VENLO, IDEAL-STANDARD, DAL., etc., or an equal
and approved.

All sanitary ware shall be supplied by the same manufacturer.

Where required by the Owner/Engineer and at any time, a fixture sample or catalogue
whatever possible of each type designated on the drawing shall be submitted for
approval. The samples shall be fitted and set up at the building or in some other
convenient approved place, if needed.

The approved fixture samples shall be kept free from removal and protected at all times
for comparison purposes. Al fixtures of the quality poorer than the samples submitted
will be rejected.

5. RAINWATER DISCHARGE SYSTEM:

5.1 External works

5.1.1 Pipelines and protection of them:

Under Ground rainwater drainage lines from the building to the gullies, area drains
(size 150-200 mm dia) shall be of UPVC pipes as swage pipes.

Rainwater pipes from the gullies and area drain (sizes 200- above ) to the manholes
and between the manholes shall be of sulphate resistant concrete (Type “V”)
conforming to B.S.5911, Part 1 and to M.P.W. Standard Drawing No.RA/D/TP-1.

Pipe laying and protection of concrete pipes shall be made according to M.P.W.
Standard Drawing No. RA/D/TP-6.

The work must include the connection to the exisiting city main.

Connections to culverts shall be designed according to M.P.W. Standard Drawing


No.RA/D/TP-6.

5.1.2 Gullies :

Sloping of the entire area shall be solved in accordance with relevant Kuwaiti
regulations and to the satisfaction of the M.P.W. Roads Administration & Public Health
Engineering Administration.

The designed rates of rainfall and categories of risk and the duration of rainfall shall be
taken into consideration according to the Kuwaiti circumstances, according to B.S.
6367 (Formerly CP 308).

Spacing of gullies for paved areas has to be calculated and submitted according to B.S.
6367 (Formerly CP 308).

Vertical gullies shall be designed according to M.P.W. Standard Drawings


No.RA/D/TP-15 and 16.

Horizontal gullies shall be designed according to M.P.W. Standard Drawings


No.RA/D/TP-18, 19, 20 and 21.

Yard gullies shall be as per “SMITH” 2350 or an equal and approved.

5.1.3 Cleaning Facilities:

Manholes shall be designed according to M.P.W. Standard Drawing No. RA/D/TP-17.

Manhole Covers, Frames and other accessories shall be designed according to M.P.W.
Standard Drawing No.RA/D/TP-10.

5.2 INTERNAL WORKS :

5.2.1 Pipelines :

Rainwater stacks shall pass exposed alongisde the walls of the court yard. Rainwater
pipes from roof drain to anti- splash shoes along with wall and exposed to sun shall be
of hot dipped, bitumen coated cast iron according to B.S. 437 or ASTM-A-74 Extra
heavy. Product of Kuwait Foundry Co., Drawing No. KF 2265/PR-292. Pipes shall be
with bubless ends and cast iron coupler body to ASTM-A-48; Gasket to ASTM-C-564;
Stainless Steel Clamp Bands to AISI-301; Screws to AISI-305; all as per manufactured
by Jay Smith OR TIME-SAVER connections to B.S. 6987, as per manufactured by
Glynwed or an equal and approved.

Rain water stacks shall be provided with cast iron anti – splash shoes.

5.2.2 Roof Drains:

Roof drains shall conform to M. P.W. Standard Drawing No. N/905 and shall be made
according to “SMITH” 1010 and 1020 or an equal and approved, with Dura coated cast
iron body with combined finishing clamp and gravel stop and polyethylene low profile
dome stainer. For insulated roof use SMITH 1015 with adjustable extension to suit
insulation.

Calculation of distribution, number and diameter of roof drains has to be submitted


according to B.S. 6367 (Formerly CP 308).

6. FIRE FIGHTING SYSTEM :

6.1 EXTERNAL WORKS :

Refer to Water Supply System, Chapter 1.1.

6.2 INTERNAL WORKS :

6.2.1 Water Tanks :

Capacity of fire fighting water tank shall be (1000 gallons), made from fiber glass
materials as per MPW specifications with all accessories .

6.2.2 Pipelines :

For filling, overflow and drain lines refer to Chapter 1.2.2.

Fire fighting supply lines from the tank to the booster pump and from the booster pump
to the drops to fire Cabinets shall pass on the roof, exposed.

The entire fire fighting supply line shall be of heavy duty, Class “C” galvanized steel
conforming to B.S.1387. Fittings shall be according to B.S. 143. The flange to the
tank shall be solved according to the detail shown on M.P.W. Standard Drawing No.
N/1036, as a prevention from corrosion.

6.2.3 Valves:

Gate Valves dia.65 and smaller shall be of copper alloy conforming to B.S. 5154.

6.2.4 Booster Set :


The fire fighting booster set shall have –
-36 GPM, capacity against
-30.0 M. pressure head with
-3.0 KW electrical input (one pump working & one standby).

It shall be covered according to M.P.W. Standard Drawing No.N/1045.

Pumps shall have mechanical seal. Discharge and suction flanges shall be rated for a
working pressure of 10 bars (NP-10) and shall be drilled to B.S. 10 4504. Pump
material shall be equal or superior to the following:-
Casing : Fine grained gray cast-iron or bronze.
Impeller : Bronze or stainless steel,
Shaft : Stainless Steel
Shaft Sleeve : Bronze or stainless steel,

The Booster Set shall be provided with the following accessories and controls :
Pressure gauge, pressure switch, gate and check valves on the pump discharge line.
Pressure switch shall be fired to motor control panel.

Gate valve on pump station line.
Motor control panels with indicator light and fuses (circuit breakers).

6.2.5 Fire Cabinets:

Fire Cabinet shall be according to M.P.W. Standard Drawing No. N/1002,


consisting of –
- One 1” dia. 30M, long hose;
-One 2 gallons water type fire extinguisher; and
- One 6 kg. Powder type fire extinguisher,
6.2.6 Special Requirements :
The Contractor shall submit to M.P.W. within 30 days of the signing of the Contract all
materials and equipment complete with catalogues and supportive documents for
approval. Submission shall be from approved fire equipment manufacturer and
approved by local Fire Department authorities.
Tender drawings are for guidance only and the Contractor should submit, after
approval of materials and equipment lists, and before commencing any work, a
complete set of Shop Drawings for approval by M.P.W. and the local Fire Brigade
Department.
The Contractor should take into consideration that the final installation should match
with the international and local fire codes and he should do all necessary deviation
from tender drawings at no extra cost, if deemed necessary.

6.2.7 PUMP ROOM .

recommendation and MPW engineer .
