Experiences with the Polynomial Hybrid Monte Carlo Algorithm / Frezzotti, Roberto (DESY) ; Jansen, Karl (CERN)
We discuss a simulation algorithm for dynamical fermions, which combines the multiboson technique with the Hybrid Monte Carlo algorithm. The algorithm turns out to give a substantial gain over standard methods in practical simulations and to be suitable for dealing with fermion zero modes in a clean and controllable way..

How the PHMC algorithm samples configuration space / Frezzotti, R. (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Jansen, K. (CERN)
We show that in practical simulations of lattice QCD with two dynamical light fermion species the PHMC algorithm samples configuration space differently from the commonly used HMC algorithm..

The PHMC algorithm for simulations of dynamical fermions; 1, description and properties / Frezzotti, Roberto (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Jansen, Karl (CERN)
We give a detailed description of the so-called Polynomial Hybrid Monte Carlo (PHMC) algorithm. The effects of the correction factor, which is introduced to render the algorithm exact, are discussed, stressing their relevance for the statistical fluctuations and (almost) zero mode contributions to physical observables. A lattice approach to QCD in the chiral regime / Della Morte, M ; Frezzotti, R ; Heitger, J
Non-perturbative lattice studies of QCD in the chiral thermodynamic regime, where chiral symmetry is spontaneously broken, require to deal with almost quark zero modes in a theoretically clean and computationally efficient way. We discuss the basic features and some realistic tests of a formulation, known as lattice tmQCD, that fulfills these requirements [...]

The PHMC algorithm for simulations of dynamical fermions; 2, Performance analysis / Frezzotti, Roberto (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Jansen, Karl (CERN)
We compare the performance of the PHMC algorithm with the one of the HMC algorithm in practical simulations of lattice QCD. We show that the PHMC algorithm can lead to an acceleration of numerical simulations. [...]
