MiNNLO$_{\text{PS}}$: A new method to match NNLO QCD to parton showers / Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Nason, Paolo (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Re, Emanuele (CERN ; Annecy, LAPTH) ; Wiesemann, Marius (CERN ; Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Zanderighi, Giulia (Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
We present a novel method to combine QCD calculations at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) with parton shower (PS) simulations, that can be applied to the production of heavy systems in hadronic collisions, such as colour singlets or a $t\bar{t}$ pair. The NNLO corrections are included by connecting the MiNLO$^\prime$ method with transverse-momentum resummation, and they are calculated at generation time without any additional reweighting, making the algorithm considerably efficient. MiNNLO$_{\rm PS}$: Optimizing $2\to 1$ hadronic processes / Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Re, Emanuele (Annecy, LAPTH) ; Wiesemann, Marius (Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
We consider the MiNNLO$_{\rm PS}$ method to consistently combine next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD calculations with parton-shower simulations. We identify the main sources of differences between MiNNLO$_{\rm PS}$ and fixed-order NNLO predictions for inclusive observables due to corrections beyond NNLO accuracy and present simple prescriptions to either reduce or remove them. Top-pair production at the LHC with MiNNLO$_{\rm PS}$ / Mazzitelli, Javier (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Nason, Paolo (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Re, Emanuele (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Annecy, LAPTH) ; Wiesemann, Marius (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Zanderighi, Giulia (Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Tech. U., Munich (main))
We consider the production of a pair of heavy quarks and illustrate the derivation of the MiNNLO method to match next-to-next-to-leading order calculations with parton showers (NNLO+PS) for this class of processes. As a first application, we construct an event generator for the fully differential simulation of hadronic top-quark pair production at NNLO+PS and discuss all details of its implementation in a parton shower Monte Carlo framework. Next-to-next-to-leading order event generation for top-quark pair production / Mazzitelli, Javier (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Nason, Paolo (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Re, Emanuele (Annecy, LAPTH) ; Wiesemann, Marius (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Zanderighi, Giulia (Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
The production of top-quark pairs in hadronic collisions is among the most important reactions in modern particle physics phenomenology and constitutes an instrumental avenue to study the properties of the heaviest quark observed in nature. The analysis of this process at the Large Hadron Collider relies heavily on Monte Carlo simulations of the final state events, whose accuracy is challenged by the outstanding precision of experimental measurements. An event generator for Lepton-Hadron Deep Inelastic Scattering at NLO+PS with POWHEG including mass effects / Buonocore, Luca (CERN) ; Limatola, Giovanni (Turin U.) ; Nason, Paolo (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Tramontano, Francesco (CERN ; Naples U.)
We present a generator for lepton nucleon collisions in the DIS regime, focusing in particular on processes with a massive lepton and/or a massive quark in the final state. We have built a full code matching NLO QCD corrections to parton shower Monte Carlo programs in the POWHEG-BOX framework. [...]

The transverse momentum spectrum of weak gauge bosons at N$^3$LL$+$NNLO / Bizon, Wojciech (KIT, Karlsruhe, TTP ; KIT, Karlsruhe, IKP) ; Gehrmann-De Ridder, Aude (Zurich, ETH ; Zurich U.) ; Gehrmann, Thomas (Zurich U.) ; Glover, Nigel (Durham U., IPPP) ; Huss, Alexander (CERN) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Re, Emanuele (CERN ; Annecy, LAPTH) ; Rottoli, Luca (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Walker, Duncan M. (Durham U., IPPP)
We present accurate QCD predictions for the transverse momentum pT spectrum of electroweak gauge bosons at the LHC for 13 TeV collisions, based on a consistent combination of a NNLO calculation at large pT and N3LL resummation in the small pT limit. The inclusion of higher order corrections leads to substantial changes in the shape of the differential distributions, and the residual perturbative uncertainties are reduced to the few percent level across the whole transverse momentum spectrum. A POWHEG generator for deep inelastic scattering / Banfi, Andrea (Sussex U.) ; Ferrario Ravasio, Silvia (CERN) ; Jäger, Barbara (Tubingen U.) ; Karlberg, Alexander (CERN) ; Reichenbach, Felix (Tubingen U.) ; Zanderighi, Giulia (Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Munich, Tech. U.)
We present a new event generator for the simulation of both neutral- and charged-current deep inelastic scattering (DIS) at next-to-leading order in QCD matched to parton showers using the POWHEG method. Our implementation builds on the existing POWHEG BOX framework originally designed for hadron-hadron collisions, supplemented by considerable extensions to account for the genuinely different kinematics inherent to lepton-hadron collisions. Logarithmic accuracy of parton showers: a fixed-order study / Dasgupta, Mrinal (Manchester U.) ; Dreyer, Frédéric A. (MIT, Cambridge, CTP) ; Hamilton, Keith (University Coll. London ; CERN) ; Monni, Pier Francesco (CERN) ; Salam, Gavin P. (CERN ; MIT)
We formulate some first fundamental elements of an approach for assessing the logarithmic accuracy of parton-shower algorithms based on two broad criteria: their ability to reproduce the singularity structure of multi-parton matrix elements, and their ability to reproduce logarithmic resummation results. We illustrate our approach by considering properties of two transverse momentum ordered final-state showers, examining features up to second order in the strong coupling. [...]
