Small instanton-induced flavor invariants and the axion potential
/ Bedi, Ravneet (Minnesota U.) ; Gherghetta, Tony (Minnesota U.) ; Grojean, Christophe (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin ; CERN) ; Guedes, Guilherme (DESY) ; Kley, Jonathan (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin) ; Vuong, Pham Ngoc Hoa (DESY)
Small instantons which increase the axion mass due to an appropriate modification of QCD at a UV scale $\Lambda_{\rm SI}$, can also enhance the effect of CP-violating operators to shift the axion potential minimum by an amount, $\theta_{\rm ind}$, proportional to the flavorful couplings in the SMEFT. Since physical observables must be flavor basis independent, we construct a basis of determinant-like flavor invariants that arise from instanton calculations containing the effects of dimension-six CP-odd operators at the scale $\require{cancel}\Lambda_{\cancel{\rm CP}}$. The flavor invariants of the $\nu$SM
/ Grojean, Christophe (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin ; CERN) ; Kley, Jonathan (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin) ; Leflot, Damien (Annecy, LAPTH) ; Yao, Chang-Yuan (DESY ; Nankai U.)
Sixty years after the experimental discovery of CP violation in the quark sector, the existence of a similar CP violation in the lepton sector is still to be established. Actually, the structure of such a violation depends crucially on the origin of the neutrino masses. [...]

ALP-ine quests at the LHC: hunting axion-like particles via peaks and dips in $t \bar{t}$ production
/ Anuar, Afiq (CERN) ; Biekötter, Anke (Mainz U., Inst. Phys. ; U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Biekötter, Thomas (KIT, Karlsruhe, TP) ; Grohsjean, Alexander (Hamburg U.) ; Heinemeyer, Sven (Madrid, IFT) ; Jeppe, Laurids (DESY) ; Schwanenberger, Christian (Hamburg U. ; DESY) ; Weiglein, Georg (DESY ; Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II)
We present an analysis of the sensitivity of current and future LHC searches for new spin-0 particles in top-anti-top-quark ($t\bar{t}$) final states, focusing on generic axion-like particles (ALPs) that are coupled to top quarks and gluons. As a first step, we derive new limits on the effective ALP Lagrangian in terms of the Wilson coefficients $c_t$ and $c_{\tilde{G}}$ based on the results of the CMS search using $35.9$ fb$^{-1}$ of data, collected at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV. ALPs, the on-shell way
/ Bertuzzo, Enrico (Sao Paulo U. ; Modena U.) ; Grojean, Christophe (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin ; CERN) ; Salla, Gabriel M. (Sao Paulo U. ; DESY)
We study how the coupling between axion-like particles (ALPs) and matter can be obtained at the level of on-shell scattering amplitudes. We identify three conditions that allow us to compute amplitudes that correspond to shift-symmetric Lagrangians, at the level of operators with dimension 5 or higher, and we discuss how they relate and extend the Adler's zero condition. EUTelescope: A modular reconstruction framework for beam telescope data
/ Bisanz, Tobias (Gottingen U., II. Phys. Inst. ; CERN) ; Jansen, Hendrik (DESY) ; Arling, Jan-Hendrik (DESY) ; Bulgheroni, Antonio (Insubria U., Como) ; Dreyling-Eschweiler, Jan (DESY) ; Eichhorn, Thomas (DESY) ; Gregor, Ingrid-Maria (DESY) ; Hamnett, Phlillip (DESY) ; Kleinwort, Claus (DESY) ; Morton, Alexander (DESY) et al.
EUTelescope is a modular, comprehensive software framework for the reconstruction of particle trajectories recorded with beam telescopes. Its modularity allows for a flexible usage of processors each fulfilling separate tasks of the reconstruction chain such as clustering, alignment and track fitting. [...]

Towards a Muon Collider

A muon collider would enable the big jump ahead in energy reach that is needed for a fruitful exploration of fundamental interactions. The challenges of producing muon collisions at high luminosity and 10 TeV centre of mass energy are being investigated by the recently-formed International Muon Collider Collaboration. [...]
