Expanding efforts to measure, monitor and protect soil biodiversity around the world will intensify further with the establishment of the FAO-led Global Soil Biodiversity Observatory, serving as a global reference for scientific collaboration and policy design.   The Global Soil Biodiversity Observatory (GLOSOB) was launched by FAO at the #COP15, where signatories adopted the Convention of Biological Diversity’s 2020-2030 plan of action. This plan calls for systematic assessment and monitoring of #SoilBiodiversity to aid implementation of the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF).   https://lnkd.in/d6nve9UN

The sustained increase in global food prices has had a profound impact on #FoodSecurity and nutrition, particularly in low-income countries where households spend a larger share of their income on food. “We need a balanced set of actions at all levels, addressing both the demand and supply sides. The [upcoming] 2025 edition of the State of Food Security and Nutrition (SOFI) report outlines key policy responses to strengthen countries’ capacities and transform agrifood systems to better withstand future shocks,” -- FAO Director-General QU Dongyu.
