Courtney Weaver is the FT's special correspondent for Eastern Europe. She has worked for the FT since 2009, first as a corporate and markets reporter in London, then in Russia where she was the FT's Moscow deputy bureau chief and covered the annexation of Crimea and the 2014 war in Ukraine. For her work, she was twice short-listed for the British Press Awards.
From 2015 to 2023, she was a reporter for the FT in Washington where she covered the White House, Trump administration and the 2016 and 2020 presidential races. She is currently based out of Berlin.
