Arsenal's set-piece maestro Nicolas Jover is honoured with mural outside the Emirates - but rival fans mock the painting as 'embarrassing'

Arsenal's much-hailed set-piece coach Nicolas Jover has been memorialised by club supporters with his own mural being created outside the Emirates.

The 43-year-old is a key figure in the Gunners set-up and since joining three years ago has watched Arsenal transform into a team that has scored more goals from corners than any other Premier League side.

His efforts have been key to the club's title challenge this season with Arsenal the most dangerous team from set-pieces this season and have their corner routines to thank for their recent win over Man United and draw against Fulham.

Jover takes most of the credit for Arsenal's aerial dominance and his role as an integral part in Mikel Arteta's coaching team hasn't gone unnoticed by supporters.

Delighted Arsenal fans have now taken it upon themselves to add Jover to the mural in the Hornsey Road tunnel right outside the Emirates that is already lined with the images of players and Arteta.

Ironically, Jover's image - showing him wearing an Arsenal coaching jacket - has been painted in black and white on the corner of the traditional brick wall.

The picture of a smiling Jover is complete with the corner of a pitch etched into it to honour the set-piece expert's incredible transformation project at the club.

Arsenal have scored 23 goals - eight more than any other top-flight team- from corners this season with their set-piece organisation causing chaos amongst rival defences.

The threat they pose from corners has become the main talking point around Arsenal in recent weeks and while delighted with the results, Arteta is keen to see his team find more goals in open play as well.

Speaking pre-match ahead of Arsenal's 2-0 Champions League win over Monaco on Wednesday, Arteta said: ' We still have the dominance we have and need to get the killer instinct. We have more entries in the box than any other team, this is the last part that is not there.

'I have to help them to do that, arrive more and get more chances (in open play).

'We have to have more asymmetry on both sides, we have to find the right balance with the players we have to be a threat from everywhere,' added the Arsenal boss.

Meanwhile, rival supporters were quick to mock the painting dedicated to Jover with one post on X stating: 'Nah this is the list cringiest thing I’ve ever seen.

'I’d half understand if you won something and his set piece coaching was the main reason but a mural after a quarter of a season just cos you’ve scored a few set pieces has to be the most arsenal thing ever. Embarrassing.'
