NFL reporter opens up to Kylie Kelce about decision not to have kids
NFL reporter Charissa Thompson has discussed her decision to not have children in her appearance on Kylie Kelce's 'Not Gonna Lie' podcast.
Thompson, 42, works on Amazon Prime's NFL coverage and joined Kelce on her new show to talk through her life and career this week.
At one stage Kelce, who is pregnant with her fourth child, steered the discussion towards family life and underlined the respect she holds for Thompson speaking publicly about her decision.
'I have already professed my deep appreciation for it in person, but I do wanna do it publicly on this podcast,' she said. 'One of the things that you’ve been super public about is your choice not to have children.'
Thompson explained to Kelce that the decision in part comes from previous struggles in marriage. In 2020, Thompson split from sports agent Kyle Thousand and was married before in her mid-20s.
'Everyone has a choice, or sometimes you don't have a choice that becomes your reality,' Thompson said.

'My choice to not have children grew from my struggle in marriages. I have been divorced twice and I had some situations that created a lot of mistrust and a lot of heartache.
'I don’t want to attach myself to something that I can't detach from. I can walk away from those marriages, but I can't walk away from children.
'I always wanted to have kids. I also thought I was gonna live happily ever after. For me, it went back to control.
There's all these other things that can happen when you have a child and for me it comes back to control.'
The 32-year-old Kelce, who is married to Travis Kelce's brother Jason, posted the clip on her podcast's Instagram page with caption: 'So grateful to Charissa Thompson for opening up and using her platform to talk about her decision not to have children.'
