Foreign investors increased their exposure to Canadian securities by a net C$29.3 billion in September of 2024, a seventh consecutive month of increase and the most since April, firmly ahead of market expectations of a C$10 billion increase. The rise was broadly distributed among all asset classes, with debt security investments rising by C$14.7 billion, carried by a C$14 billion jump in bonds, mostly emitted by corporations.
