Synopsis
In the Dugout, the Maltos are relaxing post-party when a video message from Hashtag and Mo arrives to fill them in about the existance of Terratronus underneath Witwicky and Starscream's plan to bend the Titan to his will. Nightshade is confident that they've protected their half of the Emberstone adequately, but they need to get the Embershards that the Decepticons have collected as well. Robby takes charge, assigning Thrash and his dad to guard their shards while he and the rest of the Maltos go on a mission to get the Decepticons' stash.
Meanwhile, Starscream is supremely confident that they'll soon be victorious. Shockwave isn't keen on the plan, believing they should be concentrating on returning to Cybertron. Discussion is cut short by explosions taking out the main gate of the Decepticon base — a combined Autobot/Terran force has arrived to stage an assault. As the Decepticons confront them, Starscream contacts Spitfire to tell her to employ her "unique skills". The Cons turn down Optimus and Megatron's request they surrender, and battle begins.
Alex is giving Thrash a combat lesson when a grenade drops in, knocking out Thrash when he heroically protects his father. Spitfire swoops in and, using her similarity with Twitch, passes the bio-scan on the vault containing the Embershards. Having claimed the shards, she moves in on Alex.
While the battle rages at the Decepticon base, Robby and Twitch fly into the base proper and retrieve the Decepticons' shard collection. As they leave, the hidden Shockwave takes aim at them, but opts not to fire. They emerge to find that Starscream now has Alex as a hostage and Robby is forced to hand over the hard won shards in return for his father's life. As the Decepticons move out, Starscream gives Spitfire the honor of combining the shards. The shards, combined once more into a stone, unleash red lightning across the Decepticon base that deactivates the Autobot and Terran forces present. A bolt of lightning also seizes Spitfire but dissipates once she grabs the completed stone, and she and Starscream fly off, leaving Dot to survey the carnage.
Thrash comes around to find Fluffy Ears licking him and starts looking for the other Maltos before realizing the Embershards have gone. He gets a call from Robby to come pick him up at the Decepticon base.
Mo and Hashtag enter Terratronus's spark chamber, and Mo snaps more pictures while worrying about the rest of the family. Hashtag tries to reassure her, but is undercut by the arrival of Aftermath and Spitfire, along with Starscream and the corrupted Emberstone. Figuring something bad's happened, an enraged Mo attempts to attack Starscream but Hashtag pulls her back. Meanwhile Thrash and Robby speed through the underground corridors, trailing Starscream. Hashtag's attempts to appeal to Starscream's better nature fail, and Aftermath seals her and Mo out of the chamber just as Robby and Thrash arrive. Robby tries unsuccessfully to bait Aftermath into letting them in, before Starscream takes the Cyber Slayer back and turns it on Aftermath, reclaiming the Embershard that was animating the Chaos Terran. The Maltos try to get Spitfire to let them in, but too late, as Starscream does the same to her. With the now complete Emberstone, Starscream gives himself a "Chaos Sleeve" and links with Terratronus's spark.
Terratronus bursts from the ground near Witwicky while the onlooking Decepticons cheer. Starscream takes the moment to flush Robby, Mo, Thrash and Hashtag from the Titan's body. Fortunately they reach the ground relatively safely and manage to avoid the giant fist Starscream sends their way. The Decepticons are glad they're on Starscream's side, until a careless swipe of Terratronus's hand sends them and much of the mountainside flying, as Starscream attempts to eliminate the fleeing Maltos. Realizing Starscream's out of control, Shockwave heads off in a new direction and invites the other Decepticons to follow. The Maltos are knocked flat by another swipe from Terratronus, and Robby, spying the terrified townsfolk, realizes they have to stop Starscream now. He and Mo join together to create a huge force field dome over the Titan, which also has the side effect of sealing the fleeing Decepticons in with her. The Emberstone is teleported to Robby and Mo, breaking Starscream's hold on Terratronus and restoring the deactivated Autobots and Terrans. The two kids attempt to uncorrupt the Emberstone, only for it to instead shatter once again and this time the shards crumble into dust. Robby believes the power is now inside them, as they've accomplished so much without even possessing the Emberstone. Twitch contacts Robby who fills her in on recent events, and resolves to find a way to help Terratronus, still frozen within the huge force field.
