Christopher Hitchens
Christopher Eric Hitchens (Portsmouth, 1949ko apirilaren 13a - Houston, 2011ko abenduaren 15a) ingeles-estatubatuar idazle eta kazetaria izan zen.
Hasieran sozialista demokratikoa izan zen, eta gero marxista. Estatu Batuetako kanpo-politikaren aurka agertu zen Vietnamen, Txilen edo Ekialdeko Timorren, baina Kosovon, Iraken eta Afganistanen esku-hartze militarrak babestu zituen.
Erlijio guztiak faltsutzat, kaltegarritzat eta autoritariotzat jo zituen. Adierazpen askea eta aurkikuntza zientifikoa defendatu zituen.
1981ean Estatu Batuetan kokatu zen eta The Nation eta Vanity Fair egunkarietan idatzi zuen eta literatur kritikak argitaratu zituen.
Salman Rushdie idazle britanikoaren alde egin zuen 1988an, 'The Satanic Verses' eleberria argitaratu ostean, Irango Islamiar Errepublikako Lider Gorenak, Ruhola Khomeinik, haren kontrako fatua batean heriotza-zigorra ezarri ondoren. Harrezkero, ezkerretik urrundu eta jarrera liberal eta neokontserbadoreetarantz jo zuen. Europar Batasunaren defendatzailea ere izan zen.
