I'm useless! Hooray!
I celebrate with a new sig! Did I do it good this time? -- 01:34, 1 June 2011
- Good job. But you forgot at least one span somewhere. Also, you're using a font face that's only visible to people with windows vista or 7. ~ 01:58, 1 June 2011
- So, what happens for people with XP? -- 02:06, 1 June 2011
- They can't see it either. Neither can users of Snow Leopard, Leopard, Windows ME, Ubuntu, Debian, Linux Mint, Gentoo, Arch Linux, Damn Small Linux, Windows Phone 7, other smartphones, owners of e-readers, or in fact the majority of the population. Also, don't use font tags. They're deprecated. – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • critchat) 02:14 Jun 01, 2011
- LOL you protected it. Guess you overlapped the fact that there was a load of span classes and span styles there too, huh? -- 02:22, 1 June 2011

- I will not use font tags. But we'll have a deal. If I do this again, you can vandalize my userspace and protect it, and ban me for a day. And the day shall be called Fuck Lollipop day. Deal? -- 02:40, 1 June 2011
- I'll just ban you for using a broken signature and messing up other pages. ~ 03:04, 1 June 2011

Although I've never seen a snake do... <GASP!!> He's taking out something. What on Earth is that--a .45! He shoots the Russian guard dead and oh crap, wrong Snake. -- 09:11 June 1, 2011 (UTC)

Font tags are deprecated? But I use them all the time! (whenever I'm working in HTML that is). And thanks for permabanning yourself. Serves you right after what you did to Lollipop! --Scofield & The Machine 12:19, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, they are... so you really shouldn't be using them. Make stylesheets and keep everything in those, mon. ~ 20:30, 1 June 2011
What about now...
Is it any better now? You know, this. (I started that another bunny-thing but I went completely lost. Everything died when I found the deanimated-thing, another version of Peter Rabbit.) I can still upload more photos, but I think this is now more myself made, don`t you think? I used title-things, so always when "changing a page" in that second page, the page is still same but you always have a new title, like UnBooks:The bumper book of bunny suicides/page sandwich and more very weird stuff. ALSO there is these "Oh" and this why the thing is prohibited. I`m pretty proud of myself. Are you proud of me? Is Lollipop proud of me? Hmn? 12:55, 1 June, 2011 (UTC)
- Mmm, I rather like it. Can't speak for the other fellow, mind, but he might be as well. One thing, though, do you think you could add direct links to the pages, besides the random one? If someone wants to see all of them, it might help. A 'next page >' and '< previous page' would do it, too. ~ 20:33, 1 June 2011
New Account
Dear Lyrithya, im setting up an account for a friend of mine and NOT a sock puppet. We share a router sometimes though she is in the United States now. In anycase, I have no time for sockpuppet nonsense and I just want it to be SUPER CLEAR that I find sock puppet and games like that very irritating and vote fixing incredibly nauseating. --ShabiDOO 18:36, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

For moving a category:
- Goto Special:Export. Enter the name of the article or category you want to move in the bigger box. Uncheck the Include only the current revision, not the full history box in order to retain the full editing history. Click Export and save the file somewhere wherever you want.
- Open the file, preferably with something OTHER than notepad, something that can read XML files. Search for the text <title> and change the contents within to the destination location. Save the file.
- IMPORTANT: Be sure to delete the old category before going to Special:Import and uploading the file to its new location.
- Move the talk page to the new location and delete the appropriate redirects, where applicable.

Shame on you!
For the sake of non-existent dramatic effect, I shall repeat myself. Shame on you! And why is the shame "on" you? Because you were foolhardy enough to vote for the featurisation of A Series of Unfortunate Events, my latest article. Don't you realise that you should have hacked into the Uncyclopedia servers and removed both the article and its nomination page from existence? Well, you obviously did not and now look what has happened: A Series of Unfortunate Events made it onto the front page! This could well cause the fall of the southern hemisphere, and it's all your fault. 14:51, June 2, 2011 (UTC)

Question
With your forum, are you saying {{Subcat}} is now obsolete? And that subcats for pages should just be expressed as you would categorise any old page? -- Frosty dah snowguy contribs GUN PLEB 09:41, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
- Subcat was obsolete years ago. We've got a giant mess on our hands now because folks never realised it, or so it seems... not that this entire site isn't a mess, but... eh. Yes. Like normal pages. ~ 10:05, 3 June 2011
- Well is it worth converting them? -- Frosty dah snowguy contribs GUN PLEB 10:30, June 3, 2011 (UTC)
- Is it worth doing anything maintenance-related here? But seriously, if you could help diffuse pages in overly populated categories into appropriate subcategories, that'd be wonderful, and it would sort of help as much as anything else. Whatever that happens to actually be saying. ~ 10:32, 3 June 2011

Things
Things to think and/or do something with. "Skunk" is being vandalized by IP's, so the infi-protect for features isn't working on it. Something must be done, maybe, never. I was going to use your pink logo on "Gay" and other gay pages, then saw that it had that stupid saying under it about content free, which is stupid and makes uncy look stupid, so can you upload a real version so the gay pages will look oh so pretty. Thanks. And of course the category thing you did, please revert that if you would be so kind. All the people who really like working on categories seem to want it back, and it was done without a blink of an eye, so, yeah. Thanks. Nice pink logo! Except for the writing. And thanks for the vote on "Skunk", which is kind of scary (the vote and the page) Aleister 12:39 5-6-'11
- Thanks for protecting Skunk. Someone has to protect the poor defenseless things. Aleister 13:13 5-6-'13 (apparantly, time machine glitch)
- Oh, sorry... got sidetracked. But yeah, the guy forgot to protect it... happens, but that should probably be another thing for Fnoodle to check for. As for content-free, that's the tagline of the entire wiki! I won't disagree that it could use a new one, mind, but... what? I mean, really, what would work?
- Also, the main logo has that too, just so you know. Or it would if it wasn't a pile of caching mess. And as for the categories... NEVER! They will become more organised! Or less disorganised. Or deorganised. Malorganised? Perhaps with a dead marlin thrown in? Perhaps. ~ 13:28, 5 June 2011
- Well, the disorganization you speak of is actually roadsigns that point the way to people looking for related pages to, ah, actually find them? A strange concept, I know, but maybe useful to some. No, the main logo hasn't had that since I've been around, and hopefully won't because it just clogs it up with more lettering. I know it's our slogan (gag), so why don't you finally do something useful and change that. Almost every one of my pages has content in it, I wouldn't write here if they hadn't. My newest unmasterpiece, Chicago Seven, actually has historical content which can be found nowhere else "in the literature", which I got from someone I used to know who was very active in the events of August 28. I know "content free" is a good term to use to describe satire, as we don't want people thinking we are saying real things about real things, but it is just a bit too dumbed down imnho. Maybe "content light", nah. Or, well, I dunno, some muse will hit somebody to come up with the perfect slogan. But seriously, I thinkx we should keep it off the logo, which isn't such a bad colour after all, because that just adds too much to a site logo and dilutes its "power". Thanks again, for the squid. Aleister 13:40 5-6-'11
- Well, in theory, it's more than roadsigns, and not so loosely related. It's not just that we have too big of categories, but we also in a lot of cases don't have categories that would fit any better despite plenty of material that would go with it, and most folks don't even think of making new ones. Or perhaps they're afraid to... kind of daunting, that. Blargle.
- As for the slogan, no kidding. It's the actual content that makes things funny, usually, even if it's just a spattering or even nearly the entire article. Without content would these things be worth reading, let alone writing? MAybe someone else can come up with something... ~ 14:32, 5 June 2011
- Yeah, I see the wikipedia logo has that thing written on it, "The Free Encyclopedia". So if we copy them I can imagine how someone thought up "Content-free" just to play with word. Hey, just popped right into my brain this second. Wait for it: "The Freedom Encyclopedia". A little better, and gives us an air of freedom in this time of tyranny. Anyway, I came here for another reason, to say that I've knocked you once in awhile while I'm transversing the site for all the huffing you seem to do and enjoy so immensely, sometimes stumbling in to some real good ideas. So for everything you've done for me in particular, I award you with something that's not even an award, just an unused pic, but it fits you well. Yay Lywithcha or however you spell it!! Aleister 20:11 5-6-'11

Out for a walk and thought of another possibility. "The Free-Range Encyclopedia". (is it two words, "Free Range" I dunno. This implies people are free to roam and be creative, yet we still have fences around us such as rules and admins and vandals jumping in, although the fences are a long ways off and we seldom wander that far (and those who do dig holes under them, or just climb them). Aleister 00:06 6-6-'11
- Side note: Wikipedia used to call itself the "free content" encyclopedia, so it was absolutely logical for Uncyclopedia to call ourselves "content-free," a simple reversal of the two words. Alas the joke doesn't work anymore. – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • critchat) 00:18 Jun 06, 2011
- Ah, so that's where that came from. Explains much. And since it doesn't work anymore, and is pretty inaccurate, shall we open the floodgates and let names flow like water? Aleister 00:21 6-6-'11

- I'm doing that! I've been doing that for the past while. Except I was lumping a thing about logos with it... or would that go better separate? Hells, maybe you should do the slogan thing and I should start more nonsense about the logos... except they kind of go together. Hmm... ~ 01:01, 6 June 2011
- It looks like the forum did lump together way too much. The slogan, on a forum by itself, would at least have the stage while the logo's fought in the aisle. I'm leaning towards "The Freer Encyclopedier" (spelling correct) for lots of reasons. It says it all, and gives us a positive instead of a negative spin. My head spins with the spin. Aleister 16:39 6-6-'11
- Yeah... dang. Silly uncyclopedians and their one-track minds. Except if we say this place is freer, how does that account for the cabal? ~ 16:46, 6 June 2011
- It just implies freer than wikipedia, who we parody (on occasion). Wikipedia: "The Free Encyclopedia", Uncy "The Freer Encyclopedier". Freer doesn't mean free, the cabal still rules our everyday actions and lifestyles. In fact Mordillo put me up to this at gunpoint, and so I heed his direction. Is that sufficient for now, M? Mordillo says yes, I can be untied now. Alerister 16:49 6-6-'11
- Well, I split the forum... eh. But freer. That's hard to say... wikipedia is not very free, and neither are we. Eh... Well, say hi to Mordillo for me, will you? ~ 17:12, 6 June 2011

I am currently working on a new forum logo. It looks pretty good so far, but I have ran into a problem. How do you add shadows to words? Gimp can't do shadows well. Is there any other software that can do shadows to words. Because my logo seems pretty cool so far. -- 05:02, 6 June 2011

Frat Project
After much discussion, arguments, and then votes, the frat has decided to collab on Bagga. Why don't you start the page, and see what you can come up with. Thanks, Aleister 2:34 6-6-'11
- I'm not really familiar with the Bagga people... you should probably find someone more qualified. ~ 02:35, 7 June 2011
- Yes, the frat spent lots of its money and hired a young man to write an article on Bagga, actually flew him in to uncy from Peru, and he wrote for about a minute and you banned him for life. He took the money and left in a huff, going back to Peru even before he unpacked, but at least he left us the start of a page. Are the Bagga a people? I couldn't tell what he was talking about before he left. Bagga!!! Aleister 2:50 7-6-'11
- According to wikipedia, yes. ~ 02:56, 7 June 2011
- All I know about them is Bagga are Punjabi people found in Punjab (India) and Punjab (Pakistan). Baggas are normally found among Sikhs, Muslims and Hindus. Baggas belong to the Khatri, Brahmins, Ravidasias and Jats tribes, warrior and farmer professions respectively from North Indian subcontinent of Punjab. That's all I know. The frat also decided to do a page on the Jats tribe. You in? Al 3:04 7-6-'11
- What were those other articles the frat was going to do? ~ 03:06, 7 June 2011
- "Boyfriend" and "Muse", in addition to "Jats tribe". Black flamingo says someone has already started them. I haven't looked yet, and am afraid to look. Maybe I'll look the next day after tomorrow. Al 3:09 7-6-'11
- p.s. The Jats have a much bigger wikipedia page than the Bagga. Forget the Jats. I already have.

Baggas belong to the Khatri, Brahmins, Ravidasias and Jats tribes, warrior and farmer professions respectively from North Indian subcontinent of Punjab. That's all I know. how do you make your signature with a fancy date. if i don't remove mine date it looks like this:
--(๏̯͡๏)(ಠ_ರೃ) 12:53, June 10, 2011 (UTC)
what can be done? --(๏̯͡๏)(ಠ_ರೃ)
- Well, for starters, don't use newlines inside your signature. That means anything not in the noinclude, which includes the newline you apparently put before the <noinclude>. As for a fancy date, what exactly are you after? If you mean rearranged or style like mine, it just involves putting the {{subst|CURRENTTIME}}, {{CURRENTDAY}}, etc in the input box in your preferences and styling that and then signing with three tildes. Mine, for instance is
<span style="font-size:10px; color:#000;">{{SUBST:CURRENTTIME}}, {{SUBST:CURRENTDAY}} {{SUBST:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{SUBST:CURRENTYEAR}} </span>
- Hope that helps, and do remove that newline you have in your signature template. ~ 21:15, 10 June 2011

- Eh? ~ 04:04, 11 June 2011
- Just...leave...it. -- 04:25, 11 June 2011
- Leave what? If you mean the thing about fonts, no. I'm talking about good practice, or perhaps less... bad practice, at least. I mean, yes, times new roman is getting a fair amount more common these days, but we had this discussion in general before - anyone who doesn't have the specific font installed won't see anything if you just specify a single font face. If you specify a family (which may have something to do with why the css thing is called 'font-familiy', I might add), those are much more likely to be supported unless it's script or something, but if you're doing something not serif, sans or mono, perhaps you shouldn't be using it at all. I'm not saying you can't specify specific fonts, but use a family as well - if it's a specific times font, list 'times' and 'serif' as well - that way if a system doesn't have the font face, it will use another times font, and if it doesn't have one of those, a general serif font, which tend not to actually look that different.
- Vaguely relatedly, why do you have your timestamp in a specific font at all? It was that code slapping directly on the page that caused me to notice in the first place. ~ 04:46, 11 June 2011
- I've seen other users have timestamps a different font. As for the font that's in the hidden part of my sig, I think it's fine there. That font is Poor Richard, which is availble in all Windows versions from XP to 7. So what do you see when you look at my sig? Is it the default Arial or is it blank? -- 20:40, 11 June 2011
- Most fonts are available regardless of OS - licenses vary, but the rights to use them can usually be procured if need be, or they can just be downloaded according to their terms. That doesn't mean people will have them, and I checked - this 'poor richard' font does not come with Vista or 7. That means people will have had to have procured and installed the font themselves in order to see it, and I can say with a fair amount of certainty that most people won't have. Most people don't do that sort of thing at all. If you want to see how it looks on other machines, however, try it - go on another computer and take a look-see what it looks like. That's what good designers do - see how things vary, understand what would make them vary, and keep them consistent... or get fed up and include an IF IE telling anyone using IE to stop it.
- Also, Arial is one sans font among many - the windows default, but still a single specific face. Mine is Nimbus. That's what X went with on this distro, apparently. Took some getting used to, but damn it's so graceful... point is, the site css says 'sans' as a family - which sans font you wind up with depends upon your system. ~ 01:05, 12 June 2011

In looking over your deathlist with horror and fascination, may I ask/beg/question that the UnPoetia template and recent UnPoetia things be left in place? - Ali, come on man. I wanted to be the first User to write a wikipedia parody article in Aztec. I was going to talk about the cosmetic benifits of blood and bile left over from the ritual slaughter of 3,000 virgins on a pyramid in one week. :( --ShabiDOO 16:21, June 16, 2011 (UTC)
- Eh, the idea was to put that on the help page and community portal. So much redundancy... problem is, what's the point of a requested articles page anymore when most of the ones folks'll be apt to make already have articles on them? Sucky articles. Changes
Nothing, needs to happen. Nothing really matters. A wiki by its very nature changes. The requested articles page still exists, and MOST requested articles is still at the bottom of the page. All anyone is complaining about is how they get to a page that still exists. But I want it on every page in the left margin suggests it is so vital that at any given moment, someone may cry the cry "to the requested articles page!, jump in their editmobile and begone to make new content. Doubtful. Personally I want AAAAAAA in the left margin. Because when I am feeling low it always makes me smile. For that matter, we have random page and random unnews. I want random Unpoetia and Random Howto. Both can easily be added, but why stop there, about about the a-z list of all pages in the left column. That would be handy. wait, we could merge all pages into one big main page so everything is right there. UN:REQ remains pretty damn easy to access. - Maybe my point was that it was there and then it was gone. Without agreement, as far as I know anyway (can't keep up with all the "change this" or "take this away" forums). But I don't care anymore, even though at least two major users make a practice of writing requested articles (please leave a note on their pages, I'm too lazy too. That's NoNamesLeft who may already have a couple of names, and Maniac1075 who is our master of Requested pages). And I couldn't find it, although I looked before posting my note above. But I've already taken out my friskstration by once again spending a few hours digging up old graves down by the old cemetery over next to the old pine stand which sits on the old river over there. I get to digging and scaping and deboning and pretty soon I've got enough for another full one (206 piece jigsaw puzzle), haul them back to my one room shed back in the woods, and get ta constructin'. Pretty soon she's up and standing all pretty like, and then, you know. So I'm fine. Aleister 18:45 16-6-'11

Subcat issue
You said there was one relating to ordering, but I kinda missed what you meant. Having said that, if the template was changed to include [[Category:{{{1}}}]] would there still be a problem? Pup 10:14 16 Jun '11
- Seeing as the ordering is done by sortkey in the CatBrowser itself, that really wouldn't work, unless you want people to start manually sorting the things. Problem is, we don't have a bot configured to do that on a continual basis, and my skills with the bastards are far too lacking to set anything up. - Oh dear. Well, I'll see what I can do, but then again... ~ 07:41, 19 June 2011
- On collapsible menus - there are a number of potential options on what can be done to get them working, but due to browser specific issues either you have to essentially write it differently for IE, FF, and Google/Opera/Safari, or choose not to use them. Also have to consider that js is not active for all users, so using js client side is not the ideal solution. Pup 10:59 19 Jun '11
- What do you mean? Modern browsers tend to be fairly consistent; IE seems to be the only one that really differs, and it still handles most of the basic stuff the same. Also, Opera does not use webkit, so I'm not sure why you'd lump it with those. And anyhow, if js isn't the idea solution, what would be? It's the most probable to even be supported by folks; that's all we have here save for html and css. css is spottily supported at best, and we don't actually have control of our html... ~ 11:34, 19 June 2011

- I was thinking of pull-down menus - my mistake. But Opera and Chrome work very closely with W3C compliance, and safari - not the lite version, but the full version - also works extremely well. Firefox had (going back when I was coding pages daily) a few issues with positioning which meant that it didn't always have the same look as other browsers, although that may have changed. IE is of course a law unto itself. JS client side with a little getelementbyid and innerhtml display=none should do for your collapsible, but as not everyone has client side JS active (myself included) you need to ensure that your default is display=inline (or whatever) and have an onload display=none with a little toggle to change it. But, honestly, if it's a matter of changing the sidebar, for the most part I'd advise against it. The frame of Uncyc is that it looks like Wikipedia. If anything I'd be working on how we can upgrade the look to be more in that manner. Pup 12:39 19 Jun '11
- Okay, I have no idea what you're talking about. webkit is webkit, everything has issues with positioning, IE is just... weird... and getting elements by id is all very well and fine, but innerHTML does not seem to work at all consistently cross-browser. jquery, on the other hand... I'm not sure whether to embrace this thing or run away screaming. Anyhow, without the js, of course it looks normal... or normal for without the js. You've seen regular vector skin without that weird extension, right? Kind of like that. Turn on the extension and suddenly everything's all different, but it's still the same stuffs unnerneath. And of course the frame is looking like wikipedia; why do you think I'm doing all this crazy js stuff? That's what they do. Except they just have this extension specifically for the gorram skin... but no-oo... first I have to make the skin, then I have to make the extension, and does anyone help? One does. One person. And he's not even an active contributor on the english uncyclopedia, go figure... *wanders off, mumbling incoherently* ~ 13:01, 19 June 2011

- Hope? There's always hope, young Lyrithya, just trust in your heart, follow your star, hold on to your dream, and anything could happen! *breaks into song-and-dance routine* ... Must stop watching these Disney DVDs with my daughter. Anyway, I suspect my recent pattern of activity will be the norm for the forseeable future, much though I'd like to come back properly. But I'll never be too far away. If you really need me, just wish really hard, and... Oh man, I need to go watch Tango & Cash or something. --UU - natter 21:27, Jun 20

Whether Cornwall is part of England
The humour of this article partly lies in the satire of Wikipedia's guidelines on what might be a reliable source for claims made in online encyclopedia articles. This article currently cites Youtube, including an Eddie Izzard (British comedian) comedy sketch on the role of flags in British imperialism and anti-imperialist struggles. Other sources are pseudonymous comments made on Youtube videos, satirising the tone of debate on online forums discussing issues of ethnic identity in the UK.

- Then you have a start, but you need more than that. What you have right now is an oddly formatted list with some peculiar sources. What's to draw people into reading it? How will the reading itself amuse, and the sources enhance that? Your first step from here would probably be to write more - turn it into a full article, whatever that may be for this, and make it a worthy read... I'd say more, but you actually chose a rather difficult approach and I'm subsequently somewhat at a loss, here, sorry. ~ 13:03, 20 June 2011

Are y'all fucking with me?
I used to come here around 2005/06. Good times, good times. I recently returned and found that the site was just as good, if not better, than how I left it. So I wrote a few articles, all fully-fledged articles based on fictional characters. They were deleted. I thought, "okay, that's fine, can't have too many fictional people clogging up the internet pipes. Reasonable enough.". So now I've just written my first HowTo since coming back, and my first full article Carbon monoxide poisoning, and what the hell, they're both already marked for deletion. So I leaned back in my chair, sipped my Colombian coffee and thought "what the fuck?", then took to improving the CO one. BAM. Again with the ICU stamp. So now all I can think of, is that someone's fucking with me here. I mean, my article's no comedy goldmine but it's better than some of the shit on here (I could point fingers, but I'm no bully), and I actually put some research and halway decent writing behind it, and it's no stub, so why should it be slated for deletion because a mod doesn't like it? When the stars were still up it received a 3.5 average (which probably means only two people read it, but still). I just don't get it. What am I doing wrong here? --Yuewolf 18:58, June 20, 2011 (UTC)
- Standards have changed a bit. I'm sorry it seems to be detrimenting you, but it really is nothing personal. What you have are good starts, especially the bear-aware one, but they're just that - starts. Ideas and directions in which to take them. And while having a particular silliness angle, the sort of thing that Kevillips described, is common, it is by no means the only way to write articles; things being funny just because of what they are can work lovelily, but they do need to be, you know, funny. In that vein, you do have the right idea, but perhaps what you need to work on more are the jokes themselves, even if it's just how you present them? Evidently they're falling flat on folks, at present. ~ 16:48, 21 June 2011

Problem
{{FA}} and the like. Is there something you've done to the logo with the skin change? Is it easy fix or do we have to go and create new images and redo these type of templates by adding in a {{logo}}? 124.170.60.14
- Sorry - iPhone doesn't like view code so I can't really see for myself. 124.170.60.14
- The logo is still there.... isn't it? Anyhow, {{FA}} uses the same code as {{logo}}, so if something is to work cross-skin, it would also need that code, which is just a class that differs by skin. I'm not really sure what you're getting at, though. ~ 02:59, 22 June 2011

fixes
Lyrithya...have i ever told you that you are the beaming light that never dims, the shade of brilliance that grows with each strike of dusk...without fail, without flickering. Have I ever told you that? Thanks for fixing the stuff on the page. You are beaming light that never dims. PS is there a way to get the text of featured and my version with the red line infront of the potato (like some time in the next month or so?) or can you easily tell me how I can figure it out myself without taking a course in code? You are a shade of brilliance that grows with each stricke of dusk. --ShabiDOO 16:59, June 22, 2011 (UTC)
- The doctors didn't give you any special drugs recently, did they? Anyhow, what exactly are you after? You mean the source, how that was done? Just look at the diff. You are now on a computer, right? ~ 19:04, 22 June 2011
- No. Its a long weekend and so I am suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper happy. And its true Lyrith, your shade of brilliance does grow with each strike of dusk.
- What am I getting at? The featured and not featured "text" is behind the potato. Before, it was always infront. Its not a case of code, its because of the skin change (atleast Im pretty sure...though Im not positive cause, what do I know). It doesnt look good that way. Its hard to read and it's kind of distracting. Well...in my humble opinion. Just, if someone knows how to get the text infront of the potato instead of behind (unless I have a bizzare computer that is the only one that shows the text behind the potato) it would be a nice thing to correct. --ShabiDOO 21:59, June 22, 2011 (UTC)
- It has been behind for as long as long as I've been here; the z-index of that part of the column-one has been higher than that of the content all along (or all of my limited span, anyhow), so anything we stick there from the content (ie, on the page itself) goes behind. That's just what it does. It's possible it changed in the past few years, but if this is the first anyone's noticed, does it really merit overriding? ~ 22:14, 22 June 2011
- Actually it used to have different effect depending on browser. And yes, I know it shouldn't, but it did. I think with upgrades sometime over the last 12 months that changed. I'm still thinking that the best option for Shabidoo is an edited image of Sophia in her guise of a potato, with the featured strike-out and {{logo}}. Although I do have one other idea that I'm going to try out. Pup 10:24 22 Jun '11
- Ah, so the ones not following standards did it differently? Well, that's what you get for using an inconsistent browser. Wouldn't making the thing follow the pattern of the normal featured ones make more sense, anyhow? ~ 22:30, 22 June 2011
- Okay...the change happened for me with the new skin switch but maybe its just only on my computer. I dont want you guys wasting time just because I had the text infront (though I swear it looks WAAAAAAAAAAAAY better). Unless this is a proect that stimulates you guys somehow, its not a big deal at all if you forget about it. :) --ShabiDOO 22:34, June 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Potato, potato. Which would make more sense if I wrote it phonetically. I've had an idea, but I wanted to double check the {{logo}} first. And you're mean to Al. The template currently removes the existing logo first and then adds in another image in its place. Theoretically it could add in a second image in the sane area, with a higher z-index. Are you happy to add in a second image in there as {{{logo2}}}? And that overflow:hidden element - I see very few occasions where that wouldn't come in handy, or alternatively setting up the width as a default 200px, or whatever it is, by adding in an if width > 200 or width = undefined then 200 else use width? Pup 10:46 22 Jun '11
- ITS ~ 23:06, 22 June 2011
- That said, it wouldn't be terribly hard to add some new parameters; why have separate templates that do pretty much exactly the same thing? Setting the width to something that large would just make stuff overflow by default, though... that wouldn't be good. The span is ~160px depending on skin and browser, and as for Aleister, he just... well... er... *shifty eyes* ~ 23:13, 22 June 2011

- 200 was arbitrary. If 160ish is ideal, then 160ish. And I'd rather only have one template, which is why i'm asking you about an existing locked for editing one. Pup 11:30 22 Jun '11
- Ah, okay. And I unprotected it, so if you want to make modifications. I do, however, reserve the right to make modifications to your face if it comes to it. *raises a paw* ~ 23:40, 22 June 2011
- Done what I needed to. Was trying to have it default to 160px if no size parameter was included, but I can't quite remember how to do that. It will shrink anything with a size set at higher than 160px to 160px, and overflow:hidden to anything higher than 160px width or height. It also allows you to use the template twice, so you can use it once, with no parameters, and it adds in Sophia in her unfried glory, and the second time will transpose whatever you like in front of this. I've used this on Shabby-dabby-doos page, if you want to see what I mean. Would you mind deleting User talk:PuppyOnTheRadio/temp2 and User talk:PuppyOnTheRadio/temp for me as they were my test pages so I didn't do too much damage.
- And in case this comes up - somewhere in the past the size parameter was also width. I've removed width as a parameter, which means this may affect some pages. I'm not likely to go through and see if I can find pages where this has happened, as I'm assuming it will be minimal, but if that does come up change width to size on the affected pages and Bob's your mother's brother, as well as being a terrifying murderous rapist psychopath from another dimension that possessed Laura Palmer's father. Pup 03:02 23 Jun '11
- Well, that's lovely. I know I'm the last person to talk about such things, but perhaps things were there for a reason, and just removing them may not have been the best idea... ~ 03:32, 23 June 2011
- Mind, that other thing you did was pretty ingenious... just not actually that useful, unfortunately. There are legitimate uses for larger images, specifically what you were after with Shabidoo's page, and other times when one would want to leave the logo (and I'll make that an option), putting things like feature stamps on that. The stamp itself is 190px, for instance. And optimal logo size is under 150x170px, actually - 160x180 is more the span of the space, but they generally look terrible without padding, anyhow, but it really depends on the image. - Or perhaps 'petty' is a better term. It was a good workaround, but for something that's not an issue, and more likely to cause issues than resolve them; I suppose I must have misunderstood you before. Meantime, you also removed other functionality - did you have any particular reason for doing so, and for reverting me outright? ~ 05:53, 23 June 2011
- Wait, are you petty? If you are, I probably shouldn't have said that. ~ 05:54, 23 June 2011
- Only thing I removed - as far as I know - was the width thingy, and the thing about Al, as with the overflow hidden as a default that was no longer doing anything. If there was something else that I removed it was by accident - or potentially from the way that I do edits at times is to edit on another page, cut, and then reload the edit page and then paste over. If we were editing at the same time there may have been an inadvertent revert. Actually - I have no concern what happens to almost any page as long as I can still do what I intend to do. Pup 07:34 23 Jun '11

New page
I created a short new page here. If I take the construction template off do you think it's enough, or should I continue adding templates? No Bing, I've used Goggle and it just redirects me to strange search engine sites and yellow pages and such, but not to Bing, so I'm not caught in a Bing loop. Aleister 20:05 22-6-'11
- How many templates did you want to add? I'd suggest limiting to seven. Perhaps you really do have a virus/spyware/whatnot issue... did you do what that guy said? ~ 22:17, 22 June 2011
- I'd dump the templates, but add in a citation for your sources. I don't know what you would entitle your sources though - something long in relationship to where these tribes cone from or something I think would be ideal. Maybe a map would be a better image as well, so we have a graphic representation if where these people come from. Pup 11:37 22 Jun '11

Houston, we have a...
Coming to you because I was involved in some drama on this kind of thing earlier in the month, and want to hand off the drama to a responsible person. I tried all of them, and they were busy, so I ended up here after all responsible avenues were exhausted. Have you noticed that our unnews template on the main page has stagnated, and to a same serious degree, the unnews front page has also been stuck at old stories. The editor people voted in charge may not have a clear picture of what the news does - it moves, on a daily basis. There are six good unnews stories filed after the one that is on the top of the main page now, and in any other season of UnNews probably all six would have been included on the main page, either by an overseer or by the writers themselves. That is at least how Iz see the situation, and I believe the authors of the six news articles, as well as the author of the one unnews that caused drama by me sticking my nose into it, may be discouraged by this unaction on the unnews unpage. On the other hand, I don't want the editor to get discouraged and stop writing either - in fact he may be better as a writer than as an editor, and I used to enjoy his writings. SPIKE has probably lost interest if he's not back, so a week ban may have been too much and here we are. Please hand this drama off to a responsible person, as I cannot find any except Puppy, and he is just a dog. Aleister 00:30 23-6-'11
