We describe the technical design and show results of first measurements of a network based on the Timepix3 and the Katherine readout (with Gigabit Ethernet interface) installed in the ATLAS cavern in the LHC in January 2018. The network consists of four Timepix3 detectors, arranged in two two-layer telescopes. [...]

Towards a Timepix3 Radiation Monitor for the Accelerator Mixed Radiation Field: Characterisation with Protons and Alphas from 0.6 MeV to 5.6 MeV / Prelipcean, Daniel (CERN ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Lerner, Giuseppe (CERN) ; Slipukhin, Ivan (CERN ; IES, Montpellier) ; Lucsanyi, David (CERN ; IES, Montpellier) ; Sandberg, Hampus (CERN) ; Storey, James (CERN) ; Martin-Holgado, Pedro (CNA, Seville) ; Romero-Maestre, Amor (CNA, Seville) ; Morilla García, Yolanda (CNA, Seville) ; García Alía, Rubén (CERN)
A Timepix3 detector with a 300 silicon sensor has been studied as a novel radiation monitor for the mixed radiation field at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. This work describes a test campaign carried out at Centro Nacional de Aceleradores with quasi-mono energetic protons (alphas) from 0.6 (1) to 5 (5.6) MeV, where orthogonal irradiations are used to obtain an energy calibration, and a low-energy angular scan to estimate the front dead layer thickness of the sensor. A concept for spatially and time correlated single event effect detection in semiconductors using Timepix type pixel detectors / Broulim, J (Pilsen U. ; Prague, Tech. U.) ; Broulim, P (Pilsen U.) ; Campbell, M (CERN) ; Georgiev, V (Pilsen U.) ; Holik, M (Pilsen U. ; Prague, Tech. U.) ; Kunstmuller, P (Pilsen U.) ; Pavlicek, V (Pilsen U.) ; Pospisil, S (Prague, Tech. U.) ; Vavroch, O (Pilsen U.) ; Vlasek, J (Dubna, JINR) et al.
Single Event Effects (SEE), caused generally by single energetic particles, pose an important issue when implementing electronics in a harsh radiation environment. In this work, we present an electronic system for measuring SEEs temporally and spatially correlated with Timepix3 detectors. [...]

Proton reconstruction with the CMS-TOTEM Precision Proton Spectrometer / CMS and TOTEM Collaboration
The Precision Proton Spectrometer (PPS) of the CMS and TOTEM experiments collected 107.7 fb$ ^{-1} $ in proton-proton (pp) collisions at the LHC at 13 TeV (Run 2). This paper describes the key features of the PPS alignment and optics calibrations, the proton reconstruction procedure, as well as the detector efficiency and the performance of the PPS simulation. Study of the $\Lambda$-$\Lambda$ interaction with femtoscopy correlations in pp and p-Pb collisions at the LHCStudy of the $\Lambda$-$\Lambda$ interaction with femtoscopy correlations in pp and p-Pb collisions at the LHC / ALICE Collaboration
This work presents new constraints on the existence and the binding energy of a possible $\Lambda$-$\Lambda$ bound state, the H-dibaryon, derived from $\Lambda$-$\Lambda$ femtoscopic measurements by the ALICE collaboration. The results are obtained from a new measurement using the femtoscopy technique in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02$ TeV, combined with previously published results from pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=7$ TeV. Exploring the N$\Lambda$-N$\Sigma$ coupled system with high precision correlation techniques at the LHC / ALICE Collaboration
The interaction of $\Lambda$ and $\Sigma$ hyperons (Y) with nucleons (N) is strongly influenced by the coupled-channel dynamics. Due to the small mass difference of the $\rm N \Lambda$ and $\rm N \Sigma$ systems, the coupling strength of the $\rm N \Sigma\leftrightarrow N \Lambda$ processes is non-negligible and constitutes a crucial element in the determination of the N$\Lambda$ interaction. Neutron emission in ultraperipheral Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt {s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
In ultraperipheral collisions (UPCs) of relativistic nuclei without overlap of nuclear densities, the two nuclei are excited by the Lorentz-contracted Coulomb fields of their collision partners. In these UPCs, the typical nuclear excitation energy is below a few tens of MeV, and a small number of nucleons are emitted in electromagnetic dissociation (EMD) of primary nuclei, in contrast to complete nuclear fragmentation in hadronic interactions. Combination of measurements of the top quark mass from data collected by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at $\sqrt{s}=7$ and 8 TeV / ATLAS Collaboration
A combination of fifteen top quark mass measurements performed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC is presented. The data sets used correspond to an integrated luminosity of up to 5 and 20$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, respectively. [...]
