(Ferrara U. ; INFN, Ferrara) ; De Salvador, D. (INFN, Padua ; Padua U.) et al.
We measured a considerable increase of the emitted radiation by 120 GeV/c electrons in an axially oriented lead tungstate scintillator crystal, if compared to the case in which the sample was not aligned with the beam direction. This enhancement resulted from the interaction of particles with the strong crystalline electromagnetic field. [...]

(Catania U. ; INFN, Milan) ; Charitonidis, N. (CERN) ; D'Alessandro, G.L. (CERN) ; De Salvador, D. (INFN, Legnaro ; Padua U.) et al.
We have observed a significant enhancement in the energy deposition by $25$--$100~\mathrm{GeV}$ photons in a $1~\mathrm{cm}$ thick tungsten crystal oriented along its $\langle 111 \rangle$ lattice axes. At $100~\mathrm{GeV}$, this enhancement, with respect to the value observed without axial alignment, is more than twofold. [...]

An investigation on stochastic deflection of high-energy charged particles in a bent crystal was carried out. In particular, we investigated the deflection efficiency under axial confinement of both positively and negatively charged particles as a function of the crystal orientation, the choice of the bending plane, and of the charge sign. The knowledge of initial flux, energy and flavour of current neutrino beams is currently the main limitation for a precise measurement of neutrino crosssections. The ENUBET ERC project (2016–2021) is studying a facility based on a narrow-band neutrino beam capable of constraining the neutrino flux normalization through the monitoring of the associated charged leptons in an instrumented decay tunnel. Quantum computers are invaluable tools to explore the properties of complex quantum systems. We show that dynamical localization of the quantum sawtooth map, a highly sensitive quantum coherent phenomenon, can be simulated on actual, small-scale quantum processors. [...]

The dual-readout calorimetric technique reconstructs the event-by-event electromagnetic fraction of the hadronic shower through the simultaneous measurement of scintillating (S) and Cherenkov (C) light produced by the shower development. The new generation of prototypes, based on Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) readout, adds unprecedented granularity to the well-known high-energy resolution. [...]

A study of muon-electron elastic scattering in a test beam / MUonE Collaboration
In 2018, a test run with muons in the North Area at CERN was performed, running parasitically downstream of the COMPASS spectrometer. The aim of the test was to investigate the elastic interactions of muons on atomic electrons, in an experimental configuration similar to the one proposed by the project MUonE, which plans to perform a very precise measurement of the differential cross-section of the elastic interactions. Monitored neutrino beams are facilities where beam diagnostics enable the counting and identification of charged leptons in the decay tunnel of a narrow band beam. These facilities can monitor neutrino production at the single particle level (flux precision %) and provide information about the neutrino energy at the 10% level. [...]
