The SPL Front End: A 3 MeV$H^{-}$ Test Stand at CERN / Rossi, C ; Bruno, L ; Caspers, Friedhelm ; Garoby, R ; Genest, J ; Hanke, K ; Hori, Masaki (CERN) ; Küchler, D ; Lombardi, A M ; Magistris, M et al.
In the frame of the SPL (Superconducting Proton Linac) study at CERN, a new 160 MeV proton injector for the CERN PS Booster is presently under development. This linear accelerator (Linac4) would not only be a first step towards a future, multi-MW superconducting linac, but would also improve in the medium term both the beam availability and beam quality for CERN’s proton users. High Power test for the first PIMS Cavity for LINAC4 / Gerigk, F (CERN) ; Ugena Tirado, P (CERN) ; Giguet, J M (CERN) ; Wegner, R (CERN)
The first cavity of the PI Mode Structure (PIMS) section of Linac4 has been high power tested at Linac4 conditions and under high average power to simulate the operating conditions of Linac4 as a high duty cycle injector for the SPL. The PIMS section consists of 12 seven cell cavities, which accelerate the Linac4 beam from 102 MeV to 160 MeV at an RF frequency of 352.2 MHz. [...]

Status of the LINAC4 Project at CERN / Hanke, K (CERN) ; Carli, C (CERN) ; Garoby, R (CERN) ; Gerigk, F (CERN) ; Lombardi, A (CERN) ; Maury, S (CERN) ; Rossi, C (CERN) ; Vretenar, M (CERN)
The construction of Linac4, a 160 MeV H- Linac, is the first step in upgrading the LHC injector chain. Unlike CERN’s present injector linac, Linac4 will inject into the subsequent synchrotron via charge exchange injection. [...]

The Linac4 project / Lombardi, Alessandra (CERN)
Linac4 is a normal conducting, 160 MeV H- ion accelerator that is being constructed within the scope of the LHC injectors upgrade project. Linac4 will be connected to the Proton Synchrotron Booster (PSB) during the next long LHC shut-down and it will replace the current 50 MeV hadron linac, Linac2. [...]
