Role of IR-Improvement in Precision LHC/FCC Physics and in Quantum Gravity

IR-improvement based on amplitude-level resummation allows one to control unintegrable results in quantum field theory with arbitrary precision in principle. We illustrate such resummation in specific examples in precision LHC and FCC physics and in quantum gravity..

New Results on Precision Studies of Heavy Vector Boson Physics
/ Ward, B.F.L. (Baylor U.) ; Glosser, C. (Southern Illinois U., Edwardsville) ; Jadach, S. (Cracow, INP ; CERN) ; Placzek, W. (Jagiellonian U.) ; Skrzypek, M. (Cracow, INP) ; Was, Z. (Cracow, INP) ; Yost, S.A. (Baylor U.)
We present new results for two important heavy vector boson physics processes: (1), virtual corrections to hard bremsstrahlung which are relevant to precision predictions for the radiative return process in Z boson production at and beyond LEP2 energies : and, (2), electric charge screening effects in single W production with finite p_T, multiple photon radiation in high energy collider physics processes. In both cases we show that we improve the respective precision tag significantly. [...]

Theoretical uncertainties for electroweak and Higgs-boson precision measurements at FCC-ee
/ Freitas, A. (Pittsburgh U.) ; Heinemeyer, S. (Madrid, IFT ; Cantabria Inst. of Phys.) ; Beneke, M. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Blondel, A. (Geneva U.) ; Dittmaier, S. (Freiburg U.) ; Gluza, J. (Silesia U. ; Hradec Kralove U.) ; Hoang, A. (Vienna U.) ; Jadach, S. (Cracow, INP) ; Janot, P. (CERN) ; Reuter, J. (DESY) et al.
Due to the high anticipated experimental precision at the Future Circular Collider FCC-ee (or other proposed $e^+e^-$ colliders, such as ILC, CLIC, or CEPC) for electroweak and Higgs-boson precision measurements, theoretical uncertainties may have, if unattended, an important impact on the interpretation of these measurements within the Standard Model (SM), and thus on constraints on new physics. In order to fully exploit the physics potential of the future high energy e+ e- linear collider, a Vertex Tracker providing high resolution track reconstruction is required. Hybrid pixel sensors are an attractive technology due to their fast read-out capabilities and radiation hardness. [...]
