Triggerless data acquisition system for the AMBER experiment / Zemko, Martin (CERN ; Prague, Tech. U.) ; Ecker, Dominik (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Frolov, Vladimir (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Huber, Stefan (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Jarý, Vladimír (Prague, Tech. U.) ; Konorov, Igor (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Květoň, Antonín (Charles U.) ; Nový, Josef (Prague, Tech. U.) ; Veit, Benjamin Moritz (CERN ; Mainz U., Inst. Phys.) ; Virius, Miroslav (Prague, Tech. U.)
We developed a novel free-running data acquisition system for the AMBER experiment. The system features a hybrid architecture containing a scalable FPGA-based system for data collection and conventional distributed computing for data reduction. [...]

Hyperon signatures in the PANDA experiment at FAIR / PANDA Collaboration
We present a detailed simulation study of the signatures from the sequential decays of the triple-strange pbar p -> Ω+Ω- -> K+ΛbarK- Λ -> K+pbarπ+K-pπ- process in the PANDA central tracking system with focus on hit patterns and precise time measurement. [...]

Triggered data acquisition systems provide only limited possibilities of triggering methods. In our paper, we propose a novel approach that completely removes the hardware trigger and its logic. [...]

Intelligence Elements and Performance of the FPGA-based DAQ of the COMPASS Experiment / Huber, Stefan (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Konorov, Igor (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Levit, Dmytro (Munich, Tech. Using FPGA technology for event building tasks in high-energy physics experiments reduces costs and increases reliability of DAQ systems. In 2014, the COMPASS experiment at the Super Proton Synchrotron at CERN commissioned a novel, intelligent, FPGA-based DAQ in which event building is entirely performed by FPGA cards. [...]

FPGA based event building and data acqiusition system for the COMPASS experiment / Bai, Yunpeng (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Bodlak, Martin (Prague, Tech. The purely software based old data acquisition system of the COMPASS experiment at CERN is replaced by the new hybrid FPGA-software system. The two level FPGA subsystem takes over the data handling role. [...]

Modern experiments in high energy physics impose great demands on reliability, efficiency, and data rate of Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ). In order to address these needs, we present a versa- tile and scalable DAQ which executes the event building task entirely in FPGA modules. [...]

Latest Results of the OSQAR Photon Regeneration Experiment for Axion-Like Particle Search / Ballou, Rafik (LPSC, Grenoble ; Neel Lab, Grenoble) ; Deferne, Guy (CERN) ; Duvillaret, Lionel (LPSC, Grenoble) ; Finger, Michael (Charles U.) ; Finger, Miroslav (Charles U.) ; Flekova, Lucie (Charles U.) ; Hosek, Jan (Prague, Tech. The OSQAR photon regeneration experiment searches for pseudoscalar and scalar axion-like particles by the method of "Light Shining Through a Wall", based on the assumption that these weakly interacting sub-eV particles couple to two photons to give rise to quantum oscillations with optical photons in strong magnetic field. No excess of events has been observed, which constrains the di-photon coupling strength of both pseudoscalar and scalar particles down to $5.7 \cdot 10^{-8}$ GeV$^{-1}$ in the massless limit. [...]
