R&D; of the cluster finding algorithm for CMS iRPC detector / CMS Muon Collaboration
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment will undergo phase-II upgrade to enhance the capacity of detectors in the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider era. An important extension involves the installation of the Improved Resistive Plate Chambers (iRPC) in the most forward part of the endcap muon system. [...]

QDIPS: Deep Sets Network for FPGA investigated for high speed inference on ATLAS / Antel, Claire (Universite de Geneve (CH)) /ATLAS Collaboration
Deep sets network architectures have useful applications in finding correlations in unordered and variable length data input, thus having the interesting feature of being permutation invariant. Its use on FPGA would open up accelerated machine learning in areas where the input has no fixed length or order, such as inner detector hits for clustering or associated particle tracks for jet tagging. [...]

Displaced Vertex Track Trigger for the CMS Phase-2 Upgrade / Ryan Edward Mccarthy /CMS Collaboration
As part of the CMS Phase-2 upgrade, track information from the outer tracker will be available at the Level-1 trigger and with this comes the expanded opportunity to trigger on physics objects such as long-lived particles. Presented here is a feasibility study in calculating displaced vertex information using an extended version of the Level-1 tracking that identifies displaced tracks. Combinations of tracks are used to form vertex candidates and a gradient-boosted decision tree is used to distinguish between misidentified and genuine displaced vertices. [...]

Level-1 Trigger Performance in 2024 Proton-Proton Collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13.6$ TeV /CMS Collaboration
In 2024, the CMS experiment collected a record-large data set of proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13.6$ TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 114 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. This note summarizes the performance of the CMS Level-1 Trigger system to identify and select muons, jets, transverge energy sums, electrons/photons, and hadronically decaying tau leptons in this data set..

Model-Independent Real-Time Anomaly Detection at the CMS Level-1 Calorimeter Trigger with CICADA /CMS Collaboration
In the search for new physics, real-time detection of anomalous events is critical for maximizing the discovery potential at the LHC. CICADA (Calorimeter Image Convolutional Anomaly Detection Algorithm) is a novel CMS trigger algorithm operating at the 40 MHz collision rate. [...]

Design of a Level-1 Long-Lived Particle Trigger in the CMS Hadron Calorimeter / Kopp, Gillian Baron (Princeton U.) ; Tully, Christopher (Princeton U.) ; Chung, Wonyong Paul (Princeton U.) ; Kennedy, Kiley Elizabeth (Princeton U.) ; Hoienko, Svitlana (Princeton U.) ; Mans, Jeremiah Michael (Minnesota U.) ; Krohn, Michael David (Minnesota U.) ; Crossman, Bryan James (Minnesota U.) ; Hiltbrand, Joshua (Baylor U.) ; Skuja, Andris (Maryland U.) et al.
The Hadron Calorimeter (HCAL) in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) was recently upgraded for Run 3 to introduce depth segmentation and online timing measurements, expanding the physics capabilities. In particular, the augmentation of the calorimeter information at the hardware trigger level enables quick identification and recording of long-lived particle decays using lower thresholds on energy-based event quantities.
