We describe a proposal to add a set of very forward detectors to the CMS experiment for the high-luminosity era of the Large Hadron Collider to search for beyond the standard model long-lived particles, such as dark photons, heavy neutral leptons, axion-like particles, and dark Higgs bosons. The proposed subsystem is called FACET for Forward-Aperture CMS ExTension, and will be sensitive to any particles that can penetrate at least 50 m of magnetized iron and decay in an 18 m long, 1 m diameter vacuum pipe. A Forward Multiparticle Spectrometer for the LHC: Hadron spectra and Long-lived particle search / Albrow, Michael G. (Fermilab)
I describe a possible Forward Multiparticle Spectrometer (FMS) that could be installed downstream of the superconducting recombination dipole D1 in Run 4, from z = 96 m - 126 m to measure multi-TeV hadron spectra in low luminosity p + p collisions at Rt(s) = 14 TeV, as well as p + O and O + O collisions as relevant for cosmic ray showers. Light antinuclei and charmed hadrons at high Feynman xF can be measured, both of importance for astrophysics. [...]

The CMS-TOTEM Precision Proton Spectrometer, CT-PPS, is an approved project to add 3D silicon tracking and quartz Cherenkov timing detectors in Roman pots at z = +/- 210 m from the CMS collision point to study final states p + X + p. The central state X can be a W-pair from photon-photon interactions, a set of high-ET jets from gluon collisions, among others, with M(X) obtained directly as well as from the two outgoing protons. We present the FP420 R&D; project, which has been studying the key aspects of the development and installation of a silicon tracker and fast-timing detectors in the LHC tunnel at 420 m from the interaction points of the ATLAS and CMS experiments. These detectors would measure precisely very forward protons in conjunction with the corresponding central detectors as a means to study Standard Model (SM) physics, and to search for and characterise New Physics signals. The inclusive reaction pp=pX at the CERN ISR / Strolin, P (CERN) ; Albrow, M G (CERN)
Experiments at the CERN ISR have given evidence for proton single-dissociation processes where the missing mass of the system X, measured on the proton which is observed in the reaction p + p → p + X, presents a distribution extending up to large values , in the 10 GeV range. These processes globally account for ∼15% of the inelastic p-p cross section. [...]
