    GOAL SETTING
    • is a powerful strategy for professional and personal
    success

    • it is performed by individual who want to achieve


    objectives that will result in the betterment of
    themselves or their situation.
    IMPORTANCE OF GOAL SETTING
    1. Goals propel you forward
     Having a goal written down with a set date for accomplishment gives you
    something to plan and work with.
     Having goals you can focus on and visualize helps you better connect with your
    inner desires and gives you motivational energy to work on the goal

    2. Goals transform insurmountable mountains into


    walkable hills
     Proper goal setting can help break larger intimidating aspirations into smaller
    more achievable stepping stones.
     Research shows that tilting smaller milestones provides real motivation and
    greater contentment.
    3. Goals help us to believe in ourselves
     Setting goals for yourself is a way to fuel your ambition
     Unless you see yourself slowly making progress, your dreams and aspirations
    are nothing more than vague notions floating around in your imagination.

    4. Goals hold you accountable for failure


     If you do not write down concrete goals and give yourself a timeline for
    achievement, how can you look back and re-evaluate your path if you fail.
     If you fail to achieve your goals, it is a sign that there is need for change.
    IMPORTANCE OF PERSONAL GOAL SETTING

    Goals give you focus


    Allow you to measure progress
    Keep you locked in and distracted
    Helps you overcome procrastination
    Gives you motivation
    HOW TO SET A GOAL

    Consider what you want to achieve and commit to it


    Set SMART(specific ,measurable, attainable ,relevant and time bound) goals that
    motivate you and write them down to make them feel tangible
    Plan the steps you must take to realize your goal ,and cross off each one as you
    work through them
    SELF AWARENESS

    According to psychologist DANIEL GOLEMAN in his best selling book “Emotional


    Intelligence” he defined self awareness as knowing ones’ internal states
    ,preference ,resources and intuitions.
    Is having a clear perception of your personality including strengths, weaknesses,
    thoughts ,beliefs , motivation and emotions.

    What does it allow you to do?


    Allows you to understand other people other people ,how they perceive you ,your
    attitude and your responses to them in the moment.
    5. Goals tell you what you truly want
     Sometimes we think we need more money, when we really need a change of
    environment or someone to love.
     Sometimes we think we want more free time but what we really want is work
    that we can be truly passionate about
     If you never set goals in the first place how can you find out what you truly
    want?

    6. Goals help us to live life to the fullest


     When you take time to set goals, you ensure that your life is geared towards
    getting the most of every moment.

    making a decision always carry an
    element of risk and also carries an
    element of opportunity.
    -with most decisions we don't truly know
    whether the outcome will be as good or
    as bad as we anticipate and so there is an
    element of trust required when making a
    decision.
