It is a multidisciplinary field that uses techniques and theories drawn from many fields within the realms of natural science, social science, and formal science such as mathematics, statistics, information theory, physics, and economics. The goal of data science is to examine large amounts of data to uncover hidden patterns, unknown correlations, market trends, customer preferences and other useful information that can help organizations make informed decisions.
