We are honored to have Chef Barry attending our Winter Cheminot in Lebanon. Lets all show him how Oregon has some fun and gets business done. Grande du Oregon Voiture
Greetings fellow Voyagers, tis that time of the year when our youth thinks about those days coming up when the rain stops for a few days and they can grease up that new Christmas mitt they got, and play some work-up. Old as I am, I hope that is still a game kids in the hood play. Soon, they will get antsy and start pushing Mom and Dad to sign them up for spring sports. Now, being good stewards of Youth Sports in your areas, you should do what you can to fund your local teams. I CAN HELP. Grab me at the winter Chem. in Lebanon, and I will bless you with my wisdom.
Cab Clark, [email protected], Youth Sports Directer, Grand du Oregon.
CARVILLE STAR
The first quarter of the new year has begun and not much has happened for Carville Star. While we are not doing so bad as far as dollars are concerned (pin sales are strong). I received a $300.00 contribution from an anonyous voyaguer for a Gold Star Memorial. Also three Voitures and one Cabane buying countries and Star subscriptions for a total of $985; however, five Voitures and two Cabanes have yet to participate. You know who you are so please get with the program we need the dollars. On a lighter note, Joyce and I are looking forward to Grand Cheminot and the arrival of the Chef de Chemin de Fer Barry Bovee, the Marne Taxi as well as Voyaguer Louie White's World War II jeep. Sounds like a lot of fun. Yours in Service, Tony Pickens Carville Star Directuer
In October V222 hosted the Fall Cheminot in Klamath Falls. Everyone appeared to have a good time. It is always nice to greet our friends from around the state. On Veterans Day Paul Lawrence, standing in for Chef de Gare Dick Clark, and Marlena Gregory, LaPresidente C222 presented the 40/8 wreath at Veterans Park. December 16th V222 was honored to have two nursing students, Erica Sanchez and Yessica DeFillipo and their family members attending our very well attended Christmas Potluck dinner. After the votes, we now have two new goofs to wreck and will be willing to work for and with us. Delinquent members have been contacted asking for their 2013 dues; time will tell what their plans are. Dick Clark Chef de Gare V222

This is probably the best search list ever compiled about Vietnam. It would take months to look at everything this site offers. Feel free to pass it along to anyone you think might be interested... click on the link below. http://www-static.cc.gatech.edu/fac/Thomas.Pilsch/Vietnam.html
The Color Guard has not been to busy since Nationale in Kentucky. We will hold practice in Lebanon for this years competition in Arizona in September. We will be holding drawings during the year to help support the Color Guard. Do you have your tickets for the Eagle and Flag ? You can still get them, drawing will be at Grand Prom in North Bend in July. Anyone interested in joining this Great Team, contact Mike Robberstad or Frank Wells.
PLEASE Have you sent in your Voiture's list of names, addresses, phone #, and E-mail address? There is still time if you haven't. These lists will be helpful for accuracy and in communications. For example; the news letter that Mike writes can then be sent to more people and they can see the good job he does. Also any special upcoming events can be E-mailed. This can eventually reduce costs and the word can be spread quicker. Ray Johnson Grande Correspondente

Happenings around Oregon
La Presidente Grande Cabane de Oregon I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. Our first Rendezvous was in K-Falls. Those who couldn't make it missed a good time. During the summer, I installed the Officers for C-153 and C-891. The turn-out was good, the food was great, and the weather was perfect. My thanks go to both Cabanes for their hospitality. I am looking forward to meeting two of our Nat'l Officers; Chef de Chemin de Fer, Barry Bovee in January at Lebanon and La Presidente Nationale, Betty Reisenweber in July at North Bend. I think that Oregon is honored to host both Nationale Officers in the same year. I hope that we have a good turn-out at these functions. Lets give these Officers an outstanding welcome and show them what Oregon really can do. Karen Johnson Presidente Grande de Oregon Cabane 153 Lin Blair, our Box Car Chairman (C-153) sold all the Box Car pins and cards that Linda purchased at the Cheminot in Klamath Falls. Great Job Lin!!! December brought us our annual Christmas Banquet with lots of good food and fun for all. We had several dignitaries join us Linda Wells, Nationale Americanism Chairwoman, and Joyce Robberstad, Nationale La Sous Presidente, Area 2, Tony & Joyce Pickens, both holding Cheminot Nationale positions, and Ray Johnson, Grande Correspondent with his lovely wife Karen, Grande La Presidente de Oregon. We had two 50/50 drawings, a raffle/door prizes, the men/women gift exchange and drawings for the donated Party Lite table decorations. Everyone brought lots of toys that we donated to Salem Salvation Army. Thank you Dan Evers, Grande Chef de Train, for delivering them for us! Joyce brought the POW-MIA penny jar and we collected $10. Thank you, Joyce for a job well done! All of our leftover food from our banquet was donated to the Union Gospel Mission in Salem. We had a missing couple at our Christmas Banquet. Seems the Mrs. was not happy last year when her numbers werent drawn, therefore didnt win anything!! L On that note, she didnt want to take a chance and not win, again!! They were missed!! Yours in service, Lora Herrin Cabane153 Presidente
CABANE 891 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Dames of Cabane 891; hope Santa was good to everyone. We are hoping for great things in the new year just as all of you are too. The Dames have been very busy during this holiday season and looking forward to hosting the Winter Cheminot in January. Chef de Chemin de Fer Barry Bovee will be here and hopefully the Marne Taxi will be too. Be ready to have a Grande time (no pun intended). Yours in Service Joyce Pickens Presidente Cabane 891 Cabane 222
Cabane 222 helped the Voiture host the Fall Cheminot in October. Our project was once again Toys for Tots. Four Hundred and Thirty Dollars were donated and some toys. Thanks to everyone!! Veterans Day La Presidente C222, Marlena Gregory and Paul Lawrence, standing in for Chef de Gare Dick Clark presented the wreath at Veterans Park. For me it is was a very emotional ceremony. At the Veterans Day Breakfast Erica Sanchez and Yessica De Fillipo, two of our Student Nurses helped serve and we certainly appreciated their help. Our Christmas Potluck was held December 16th, and it was very well attended. Two of our Student Nurses, Erica Sanchez and Yessica De fillipo and their families attended. That gives us a chance to get to know the Students and for them to know us. Our membership is 9 so far with one new member. Happy New Year to everyone!!
Distinguished Guest: I am pleased to report that Oregon is once again listed on Madame Presidente Bettys official travel for our July Grande Rendezvous. Once her preferences have been received by our Correspondente she will share with all the Cabanes so that proper protocol can be observed. There is a really good article on the Le Femmes website, on the forms tab, explaining proper protocol for anyone that would like to brush up on what is expected of us. We will be welcoming Chef de Chemin de Fer Barry to Lebanon, lets give him Oregons best. Yours in service, Joyce Robberstad, Distinguished Guest Chairman
