Create a sponsored LinkedIn article or newsletter article using a thought leader ad

Last updated: 1 day ago

Sponsored LinkedIn articles and newsletter articles are written on LinkedIn and have a LinkedIn URL. You can use thought leader ads from a LinkedIn member to create sponsored articles and newsletter articles.

Important to know

Sponsored newsletter articles currently only support the brand awareness and engagement campaign objectives.

Before creating a sponsored article or newsletter article in Campaign Manager, you can either create a new campaign or use an existing brand awareness or engagement campaign. You can also create new ads for existing single image ad campaigns by editing your campaign

To create a sponsored article or newsletter article:

  1. Go to the Set up Ads page in Campaign Manager.

    • New campaign - If you're creating a new campaign, you'll go to the Set up Ads page after selecting your campaign settings.
    • Existing campaign - To add an ad to an existing campaign, you can edit the campaign to go to the Set up Ads page.
  2. Click the Browse existing content button. The Content Library page opens.

  3. Click LinkedIn members to search for and select member posts that you'd like to sponsor.

  4. Select the checkbox to the left of the required article or newsletter article.

    • If you haven’t previously requested permission to sponsor a post from a member, click Request approval to send a sponsorship request to them.
    • In the Request Approval dialog, click Send.
  5. Once approved by the member, you’ll be notified in Campaign Manager and can sponsor the requested post. Click Add to campaign in the lower-right corner of the page. The Ads in this campaign page opens.

  6. Click Next to review and launch your ad campaign.

  7. Click Launch campaign.

    • Optional: Click Save and Exit to save the campaign as a draft.
