Cork slow fashion designer Ríon Hannora: ‘I woke up one day and had a DM from Kate Nash saying she loved my work. I was like “I love your work!”’
When Ríon Hannora isn’t blazing a new trail for corsets, she’s taking scrap fabric to new levels, making statement art pieces and styling indie-pop singer Kate Nash

As I walk into 28-year-old Ríon Hannora’s cosy studio, located above the much-loved Om Diva boutique on Dublin’s Drury Street, I’m faced with her past work: canvases with corsets, walls of notes she has left for herself and spray painted fabrics draped around. A perfect space to allow creativity to flow.
As stylist and creative director for independent.ie photoshoots, Irish designers will forever have my heart. Having studied fashion design myself at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD), I know firsthand the hard work and dedication that goes into making clothing.
