It has a free tier that allows you to configure it in a windows server. It's a good tool for begginers to experiment with their own mail cloud solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The installation may not work out of the box. Some iis or windows roles may need to be added/configured beforehand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

MailEnable is an advance mail administrator that covers the basic features (POP, SMTP, IMAP) of this type of software and with the paid services you have advanced capabilities. Some of the advanced capabilities you can find: Cloud Storage (WebDAV Support), Server Storage, SMS Connector, XCLIENT SMTP Extension, LDAP Service, Mobile Web Administration. The software is easy to install, but is not intuitive to configure. You need some technical skills and knowledge to configure it in the right way. The graphic interface could improve too.
The premium licenses are a bit expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
MailEnable ties into Active Directory and OutLook is an easy connection to make. I used my certificate authority on the PDC to mint the SSL cert for the MailEnable webmail interface. The software is easy to manage and maintain however spam filtering is a challenge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Archiving is a bit of an issue as well. Mailenable allows you to archive all incoming and outgoing email. However, it takes a lot of room and stores it by dated folder on the server UNCOMPRESSED. It can also only be sent to an existing mailbox. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Have been using MailEnable free edition as remote SMTP smart hosts for years so I bought a copy of the Professional Edition when I upgraded from my Netware server to a Windows environment for my home network. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One item that it is seriously lacking in is SPAM filtering. What it does have in spam is very basic and misses probably around 50% of spam. There is also allot of false positives as well. The MAPI connector is also very problematic. I currently have about 20 users using it and each one has had a problem at one point in time or another, the problems are always different as well. Mailenable provides the best security for email services and has one of the best integrations of Outlook that I ever seen, the refresh of the inbox is in real time, is amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ease of use is good with this. Very functional to see multiple things open on one screen without having to open/close tabs to see other information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With the advance in other email programs, I feel this is a little behind, really. Other platforms can do the exact same thing at the exact same level, or higher sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
