Abstract
This chapter describes experiences related to an instructional approach for information research used in schools in France. The approach relies on what has become known as the document de collecte/collection document. The collection document concept emerged within France based on students’ observed practices in online information research, particularly the practice of copying and pasting content from online searches. The chapter describes the development of the document, identifies its characteristics, and outlines experiences in its use. The various uses of the collection document have reshaped its content, and the document has evolved through pedagogical practice and experience working with students.
