Node

In general, a node is a localised swelling (a "knot") or a point of intersection (a vertex).

Node may refer to:

In mathematics

  • Node (autonomous system), behaviour for an ordinary differential equation near a critical point
  • Node (graph theory), a vertex in a mathematical graph, or a point in a network topology at which lines intersect, branch or terminate
  • Node (algebraic geometry), a type of singular point of a curve
  • In computing and electronics

  • NODE, a wireless handheld sensor for smart devices
  • Node (circuits), a region in an electrical circuit where there is no change in potential
  • Node (computer science), the computer representation of a node in a graph, and a basic unit used to build data structures
  • Goal node (computer science), a node in a graph that meets defined criteria for success or termination
  • Node (networking), a device such as a computer or switch attached to a computer or telecommunications network, or a point in a network topology where lines intersect or terminate
  • Mesh node, a node on a mesh network
  • Freddie Wong

Freddie Wong (born September 13, 1985) is an American filmmaker, musician, VFX artist and competitive gamer. He is a major part of the YouTube channel RocketJump. He is the older brother of actor and YouTuber Jimmy Wong.

    Early life

Wong attended Lakeside School in Seattle, Washington. He then attended and graduated from the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. Wong owns and manages Overcrank Media, a Los Angeles-based media production company specializing in feature film and online video content, having produced an independent film titled Bear. Wong met his future collaborator Brandon Laatsch in college.

    Career

Wong competed in the World Series of Video Games in Dallas in July 2007. He won first prize in the Guitar Hero 2 competition, playing the song "Less Talk More Rokk" by Freezepop.

During MTV's "Gamer's Week" celebration in November 2007, Freddie appeared as a guest on Total Request Live. Participating in the program with his newly formed band Hellanor Brozevelt, Wong was part of a country-wide search to find the best Rock Band ensemble. After receiving tutelage from well-known rockers Good Charlotte, Brozevelt performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York against Chicago-based Carrie Me Home.

    Vertex (graph theory)

In mathematics, and more specifically in graph theory, a vertex (plural vertices) or node is the fundamental unit of which graphs are formed: an undirected graph consists of a set of vertices and a set of edges (unordered pairs of vertices), while a directed graph consists of a set of vertices and a set of arcs (ordered pairs of vertices). In a diagram of a graph, a vertex is usually represented by a circle with a label, and an edge is represented by a line or arrow extending from one vertex to another.

From the point of view of graph theory, vertices are treated as featureless and indivisible objects, although they may have additional structure depending on the application from which the graph arises; for instance, a semantic network is a graph in which the vertices represent concepts or classes of objects.

The two vertices forming an edge are said to be the endpoints of this edge, and the edge is said to be incident to the vertices. A vertex w is said to be adjacent to another vertex v if the graph contains an edge (v,w). The neighborhood of a vertex v is an induced subgraph of the graph, formed by all vertices adjacent to v.

    Mesh

A mesh is a barrier made of connected strands of metal, fiber, or other flexible/ductile materials. A mesh is similar to a web or a net in that it has many attached or woven strands.

    Types of mesh

  • A plastic mesh may be extruded, oriented, expanded, woven or tubular. It can be made from polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, PVC or PTFE.
  • A metal mesh may be woven, knitted, welded, expanded, photo-chemically etched or electroformed (screen filter) from steel or other metals.
  • In clothing, a mesh is often defined as a loosely woven or knitted fabric that has a large number of closely spaced holes. Knitted mesh is frequently used for modern sports jerseys and other clothing.
  • A mesh skin graft is a skin patch that has been cut systematically to create a mesh. Meshing of skin grafts provides coverage of a greater surface area at the recipient site, and also allows for the egress of serous or sanguinous fluid. However, it results in a rather pebbled appearance upon healing that may ultimately look less aesthetically pleasing.
  • Mesh (disambiguation)

Mesh is a type of material.

Mesh or MESH may also refer to:

    In science and mathematics

  • Mesh (scale), a measurement scale for small particles
  • Mesh (mathematics), a concept in mathematics
  • The structural formula of the chemical methanethiol (MeSH)
  • Number sign
  • An elemental electrical circuit loop, used in mesh analysis
  • In computing

  • A polygon mesh in 3D computer graphics
  • Mesh network, a highly interconnected network of computers or networking hardware
  • Windows Live Mesh, free synchronization and Remote Desktop software from Microsoft
  • "Macintosh Enhanced SCSI Hardware" (MESH), the Power Macintosh MESH SCSI controller
  • MESH (cipher), an encryption algorithm
  • Mesh Computers, a British computer manufacturer
  • In popular culture

  • Mesh (band), a British synthpop band
  • Modern Day Zero, a St. Louis rock band previously known as "Mesh" and "Mesh STL"
  • Mesh, an alias used by Dutch trance musician Jack Molenschot
  • Meshes (EP), an EP by Pram
  • In medicine

  • Surgical mesh, used to support and repair organs and tissues during surgery
  • Meš

The cuneiform MEŠ, or meš is a plural form attached at the end of Mesopotamian cuneiform words as a suffix. As part of a name (PN, personal name, or other), or major class being referenced, in capital letters (a sumerogram form), it is typically separated from other capital letter sumerograms with a period. The name of the group can follow, in lower case letters, for example: (men-massu, Amarna letter EA 365), LÚ.MEŠma-as-sà-meš, (and using a secondary suffix meš, not being typical).

The MEŠ cuneiform is a vertical stroke, followed by three or four angled smaller wedge-strokes. The strokes can also be "not angled", but 45 degree wedges, smaller, or large. For example, Amarna letter EA 161, Aziru to Pharaoh, shows a series of six preparation items listed sequentially. The following wedges (on the meš or sumerogram .MEŠ wedges, are large, and the scribe has a scribing base line, that follows the vertical stroke, a baseline on which the wedges are placed sequentially. EA 161 shows the baseline 'remainder', extending beyond the last 3rd, or 4th wedge.
