Woven fabric

Woven fabric is a textile formed by weaving. It is produced on a loom, and made of many threads woven on a warp and a weft.

Qualities

Woven fabric only stretches diagonally on the bias directions (between the warp and weft directions), unless the threads used are elastic.

Woven fabric cloth usually frays at the edges, unless techniques are used to counter it, such as the use of pinking shears or hemming.

Woven is an experimental rock band from Los Angeles, California.

    Biography

With influences including Björk, Aphex Twin, Pink Floyd, Jane's Addiction and Deftones, Woven combined electronica and rock influences, to create music that ranged from guitar-driven drum and bass to syncopated, sparse IDM. In 2001, Woven released its debut EP titled EPrime on Interscope records. The eclectic songs from EPrime quickly made their way into heavy rotation and charted nationwide on CMJ as the 5th most added record that year for college radio then landing spots on L.A.'s groundbreaking radio station KCRW 89.9.

In 2003, the band released their first full length album with Interscope Records, 8 Bit Monk, which critics called a triumph of atmosphere over just about everything else and that the band had upped the groove and removed much of the subtlety it displayed on Eprime. They re-enlisted the London-based mixing genius, Steve Fitzmaurice, who had previously worked with such acts as Depeche Mode and U2. The album was self-produced by Woven, with additional production by Steve Berlin of Los Lobos and Alan Elliott.

Last night brought me back to
    The day we met
    Skinny bodies swaying
    To the music
    Music's getting so loud
I cant take my eyes off you
    For the first time
    It wasnt about
    Anything but your glow
    Yes it's getting so loud
I cant take my eyes off you
    It's your smile
    Its the way you love
    Its the way you look
    When we come
    For the first time
    It wasnt about
    Anything but your glow
    Yes it's getting so loud
I cant take my eyes off you
    It's your smile
    Its the way you love
    Its the way you look
    When we come
    Its cause you got this
    Hole in the middle
So hard to appreciate it all
    Its cause you got this
    Hole in the middle
