Transformers in Action: The Troy Principle

Megatron sends a message to Earth's secret services, telling them that the Decepticons have given up on conquering Earth and instead wanted to ally with the human race. A meeting is held in New York City where Megatron gives a speech.

Meanwhile, Powermaster Optimus Prime and his Autobots are hiding in vehicle mode, listening in.

The Decepticons give New York a gift—a statue of Snaptrap! This pushes the crowd over the edge and they unconditionally submit to the Decepticons.

The Autobots retreat to the Ark, and use the scanners to discover that the statue is actually Snaptrap himself, who is standing very still. At night, Snaptrap comes to life and transforms into Piranacon, going on a rampage! The Autobots race to the rescue, and the Sparkler Minibots bring the mighty Piranacon down. (source)

Articles and features

  • Five pages of facts. Optimus Prime introduces facts about knights in armour and evolution and Finback shows us about skeletons.

Models

Yeah, you were thinking about making one too, weren't you?
  • The Transformers Spacecraft - On a deserted planet, the Transformers (the image shows Shockwave) discover the plans for a spacecraft. These instructions are duplicated in the magazine for humans to carefully build their own.

Notes

  • While the spacecraft model is noted to be plans discovered by the Transformers, the text also states that it is indeed a 'Transformers spacecraft'. Thus it can be ascertained that at some point, Cybertronian spaceship design revolved around thin card stock and glue sticks.
  • The comic title is translated as "Bumblebee - A Beetle in Distress!"

Errors

(thumbnail)
It's like... they knew and just didn't care!
  • Oh lord, that COVER. Optimus Prime is once again amalgamated with Soundwave, sporting the latter's tape deck buttons and weapon. Ravage (or Blackcat) is copied from page 5, panel 5 of "Power Play!". The Dinobots (minus Snarl) and a severely off-model Shockwave are a mix, traced from both the cover of "Repeat Performance!" and page 9, panel 2 of the same story... except the artist both gave Shockwave two hands AND kept his hand-cannon, mistakenly rendering it as a tube coming off the back of his thigh! The whole thing is in totally insane colors... oh, and yeah, because this is a Condor cover: a bunch of totally random humans.
  • The comics continue to be recoloured, the magenta plates from the original continue to be lost, which results in a very strange first page.
  • The prose story refers to Megatron as a "Decepticon Headmaster", severely misinterpreting the meaning of the designation. Likewise, "Powermaster" appears to be understood as a rank, as well.
  • "SEACON LEADER SNAP TRAP" is somehow able to transform into Pirranacon [sic] on his own.
  • The Decepticon plan revolves around SEACON LEADER SNAP TRAP being sneakily placed in New York disguised as a statue, to come out at night and trash the place. But as part of the deal, the Americans also agreed that various Decepticons can freely patrol the city to protect it. Perhaps Snap Trap just likes dressing up as a mime?
  • The mayor of New York City apparently has the power to dissolve the entirety of the United States military on the spot.
  • "Horsehead" reappears!
