Transformers: Titans Return is an animated web series produced by Hasbro Studios and Machinima with animation done by Tatsunoko Production. Tying in with the Titans Return imprint, it is the second entry in the Prime Wars Trilogy and the sequel to the Combiner Wars web series. Eric S. Calderon and F.J. DeSanto return as the series showrunners, joined by Adam Beechen as a writer. Titans Return premiered on November 14, 2017 on the go90 platform in the US, Sohu.com in China, and on Tumblr for international markets. The series was later uploaded to Machinima's YouTube channel as well, and was delisted from go90 following the service's shutdown in July 2018. In January 2019, due to Machinima's impending closure, the Tumblr blog was deleted and all videos on their channel were made unavailable for viewing. On March 10, 2019, the series was uploaded in full to Rooster Teeth's website, before being delisted again in 2024 due to the site's closure. Titans Return ran for ten episodes, each roughly 11 minutes in length.[1][2] A sequel series, Power of the Primes, followed in May of 2018, completing the trilogy.

Overview

Following the Combiner Wars, the people of Cybertron work to rebuild and recover, but are interrupted by the reawakening of Trypticon as the Titan begins to wreak havoc. To stop Trypticon's rampage, some such as Windblade and Metroplex try to fight him directly, while others attempt to resurrect an ancient ally, Fortress Maximus. Things get even more complicated when Overlord returns, looking for a fight. And while some may be forever changed by the events, others may not emerge with their sparks intact.

Notes

  • When the series was initially reuploaded to Rooster Teeth, several episodes were uploaded with the incorrect metadata. As a result, all of the labeled Titans Return episodes were actually the equivalent episodes of Power of the Primes (so selecting "Aftermath and Rebirth" would play "The Swamp", "Our Heroes Respond" would play "Volcanicus", etc.). Rooster Teeth mostly fixed the issue two weeks later...except the video labeled "All Things Must Pass" was the Titans Return recap special. Whoops. The correct video was finally uploaded in its place over a year later.
