I must order you because God told me to.

A fierce and dedicated sentry,[1] Tigertrack (タイガートラック Taigātorakku) patrols Autobot installations with unmatched vigilance. His incredibly acute sensor packages enable him to spot approaching enemies through extreme low-visibility conditions, and can even see through camouflage screens and other optical illusions. Combined with powerful weapons and blazing speed, Tigertrack is one tough bot to get past![2]

Controverse

In early 2011, as the trial of Primacron approached, Tigertrack and Stripes remained on guard outside the Galactic Court. Tigertrack's advanced sensor package detected multiple anomalies and suspicious attendees arriving for the trial. The subtle attack he was expecting never came. Instead, the Decepticon Seekers did a bombing run on the walkways while Rumble made a door in his own unique style. Controverse

  • Tigertrack (Cybertron, 2003)
A mail-away exclusive through issue 60 of Figure Ō magazine, Tigertrack is a redeco of the original Sideswipe toy, transforming into a Lamborghini Countach LP500S, with a color scheme based on the yellow version of the original Diaclone "New Countach LP500S" toy. As he was released only in Japan, his spring-loaded missile launcher is fully operational. Several factory-applied decals on the original version were replaced by painted tampographs, like his headlamps.
Pre-orders for this toy closed on December 20 of 2002, which shipped in November of the following year.
The base mold is also used for Clampdown, Deep Cover, and Red Alert.

  • Tigertrack (Masterpiece, 2013)
  • ID number: MP-12T
  • Accessories: "Lazer homing SAM launcher", "electron pulse gun", 2 "screw driver" pile drivers
Exclusive to Tokyo Toy Show 2013 and TakaraTomy Mall, Masterpiece Tigertrack is a redeco of MP-12 Lambor, while using the face of MP-14 Alert, Lambor's retool. He transforms into a licensed Lamborghini Countach LP500S, and even features a Lamborghini-supervised paint scheme, such as glossy yellow paint covering the entirety of his vehicle mode panels and robot shoulders, various bits of black detailing to make it accurate to the real-life vehicle, as well as some toy-accurate paint details on his feet. Standing at around 6 1/4 inches (or 15 1/2 centimeters) from head to toe in robot mode, he is also in scale with MP-10 Optimus Prime, and can fit inside Prime's trailer in vehicle mode. In contrast to larger entries in this line, Tigertrack lacks die-cast parts, and his tires are cast in hard, non-rubberized plastic.
For accessories, he comes with his hand-held electron pulse gun, and his non-firing Lazer homing SAM launcher, which is jointed at the peg to allow it to pivot up and down, and can mount on either shoulder in robot mode. Both his launcher and gun can be combined and mounted on a self-covering peg-hole on his vehicle roof/robot back. He also comes with a pair of "screw drivers", which can snap onto the ends of his forearms when either hand is flipped in, and are based on the jackhammer-like pistons Sideswipe uses in "Dinobot Island, Part 2".
Tigertrack also comes with two differently-sized, customer-applied insignia stickers for his hood-chest. He comes in a shiny monochrome box with monochrome instructions, both of which have detail on the history of this obscure character.

Generations Selects

  • Autobot Tigertrack (Deluxe Class, 2020)
  • Series: War for Cybertron: Earthrise
  • ID number: WFC-GS18
  • Accessories: Missile launcher, missile, electron pulse blaster
A Generations Selects add-on to Earthrise, Tigertrack is a redeco of Siege Sideswipe, transforming from robot to Cybertronian car and back. He includes three weapons compatible with the C.O.M.B.A.T. System: Sideswipe's (non-firing) missile launcher and missile, and Red Alert's gun. Tigertrack also features multiple hardpoints all over himself and his weapons to accommodate "Fire Blasts" from the Battle Masters assortment, which can be used to simulate blaster fire or explosions.
Interestingly, the Hasbro Pulse write-up for the toy explicitly references the 2013 Masterpiece figure as the inspiration for the toy, rather than the 2003 Figure Ō mail-away release.
Tigertrack was made available for pre-order on Hasbro Pulse on June 26, 2020, and was shipped out in early November.

Notes

  • Tigertrack's coloration is based on the pre-Transformers Diaclone toy that would be redecoed into Sideswipe but, during pre-production of the original Transformers line, said toy was originally intended for Sunstreaker (then named "Spinout"). The Lamborghini brothers evidently swapped molds later in development, but not before Sideswipe's Marvel The Transformers Universe bio was written, describing him with several features of the other toy. Tigertrack's "Electron Pulse Gun" takes its name from a handheld weapon mentioned in Sunstreaker's Universe profile, and given that the original Sunstreaker mold doesn't include such a weapon, it was almost certainly a designation for the Sideswipe toy's otherwise-unnamed rifle. It's funny how circularly that worked out.
