Seawatch used to be "Baywatch", but he got a promotion. He misses those days. That Hasselhoff, he knew how to treat talking vehicles.

Seawatch and his partners were some of the earliest Micromasters, their kind proving exceptionally effective during Cybertron's energon-starved times. Emirate Xaaron assigned both the Rescue Patrol and the Race Car Patrol a mission, wherein they would stop the Decepticons' experimentation on the previously-captured Battle Patrol by destroying the installation they were being kept in. Unfortunately, this meant killing everyone within in the process. Upon arrival on-site, Seawatch's group agreed that their mission felt wrong, and decided to instead stage a daring rescue attempt. Entry to the facility proved a little too easy... Turns out the Decepticons had already successfully reverse-engineered Micromaster technology, and were now using the Autobots to test their new Air Strike Patrol. With a bit of trickery on Roadhandler's part, the Autobots nonetheless managed to liberate their comrades and fled from the installation. A Small War!

While out and about on Cybertron, Seawatch was accosted by a trio of Decepticon bullies who took delight in picking on a bot smaller than themselves. He was only spared from further torment at their hands due to several Demons turning up and tearing the Decepticons to shreds. Seawatch was so traumatized by the gruesome spectacle that he became comatose. An Autobot patrol found him in this state, and it was quickly deduced that Seawatch was the only living witness to the attack. Not knowing what had offed the Decepticons, Emirate Xaaron tasked Fixit with rebooting Seawatch so they could learn the identity of the killers, and avoid reprisals from the Decepticons. Demons! Seawatch was brought back online despite Fixit's warnings that doing so prematurely could result in him becoming hopelessly insane. Though hysterical and shell-shocked, Seawatch was able to clue Xaaron in that the Demons were responsible for the slaughter. Armed with this information, Xaaron was able to devise the means to defeat the monstrous colossi. Dawn of Darkness

Along with the rest of the Rescue Patrol, Seawatch assisted the Classic Pretenders in eight successful raids on Decepticon-held facilities. Deciding that their efforts would be put to better use with Optimus's group, Xaaron elected to teleport Seawatch and the others to Earth, only for the trans-dimensional portal to be sabotaged by a Decepticon attack as they were preparing to enter it. Both the Autobots and their Decepticon adversaries were diverted to the face of Primus, deep within Cybertron as a result. Yesterday's Heroes! Seawatch witnessed a retelling of Cybertron's origin and the awakening of Primus, and battled the Mayhem Attack Squad at the world's center as well. He soon engaged Bludgeon in some nonconsensual waterskiing deep into the caverns of Cybertron. The Primal Scream

Seawatch was sent on a mission to capture Whisper on Christmas Eve 1989, but was recalled back to base along with his team when the ensuing firefight with the Air Strike Patrol began causing too much damage to the forest around them. The Greatest Gift of All!
