Chromia (Cyberverse)
From Transformers Wiki
The name or term "Chromia" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Chromia (disambiguation). |
- Chromia is a Camien Autobot from the Cyberverse continuity family.
Long ago, Chromia did not believe she should take part in a war that was not on her home. This changed when her friend Windblade convinced her to join the Autobots under Optimus Prime as part of the effort to liberate Cybertron from the Decepticons. Outside the battlefield, Chromia knows enough about cityspeakers to provide useful intelligence on how to restore one that has a shattered mind.

Early in the Great War, Chromia joined Windblade at Maccadam's, pleading with her fellow Camien to leave the war-ravaged Cybertron and return home, only to be rebuffed by the resolute Windblade. She then witnessed Megatron being made to stand down by Maccadam when the Decepticon leader attempted to start a fight over the presence of the defector Deadlock in the bar. Maccadam's
After joining the Autobots, Chromia accompanied Grimlock and Ratchet in rescuing Bumblebee from a crashed energon tanker. Shadowstriker Chromia joined the Ark during Optimus Prime's quest to find the AllSpark, entering a stasis pod when energon reached a critical low. The Journey In a false memory created by Shockwave, Chromia was present at Optimus' announcement where the AllSpark was found and cheered on with the rest of the crew. Sabotage
Teletraan-1 eventually tracked the AllSpark to Earth only for the Ark to suffer a hull breach and crash land in Mount St. Hilary. Some 66 million years later, Chromia, along with the rest of the crew, was reawakened by Bumblebee and Teletraan-X in time to see the Decepticon fleet invade Earth. Eruption
In the time following her reawakening, Chromia returned to Cybertron to help defend it from the Decepticons until Optimus and the rest of the crew could return. Unfortunately, the Nemesis got there first, and Chromia was taken captive by Megatron. Under the threat of Perceptor being executed, she was forced to send a false distress signal to the Ark to bait them back to Cybertron, where Megatron planned to ambush and destroy them. The Crossroads Battle For Cybertron I
Chromia was eventually freed from captivity by Perceptor, though the process shorted out his optics. Escaping to find a means of warning the Ark crew of Megatron's trap, Chromia fled while Perceptor held off some Decepticon soldiers. Despite defeating Laserbeak, she was caught by Soundwave and could only watch as Shockwave blew up the Ark. Battle For Cybertron I While languishing in her cell, Windblade—having survived the Ark's destruction by abandoning ship—contacted her with her Cityspeaker powers. Thrilled to hear Windblade's voice, Chromia offered an alternative route to the Threshold of the AllSpark. Battle For Cybertron III
After the Great War ended in the Autobots' favor, Chromia was among the Transformers captured by the Quintessons, who outfitted them with control helmets that placed them in a simulation loop where they took part in a parade with varying differences each time. Within the Loop, Chromia chatted up Windblade and cheered when Optimus' float passed by. The Loop The Sleeper When the Cybertronian resistance hacked into the Loop to free Windblade so they could have her awake Iaconus, Clobber carried Chromia away so that Hot Rod could speak to the cityspeaker in private. The Trial
Chromia was eventually freed from the simulation alongside the other Autobots thanks to the Cybertronian resistance, who got them to transform when they unleashed Air Hammers into the Loop. By the time Hot Rod and Soundwave escaped from the Quintesson Scientist, Chromia was seen racing to freedom. The Scientist Once the Autobots and Decepticons had agreed to work together, Chromia was part of a failed attack on the Quintesson flagship, being saved only when Windblade managed to partly unearth Iaconus' arm, the resulting quakes scaring off the Sharkticons. The Alliance
After the Quintesson flagship had been brought down and the Judge killed, Starscream revealed himself as the new Judge. Chromia led the first attack against him only to be captured by his tractor beams and locked up with the rest of her species. The End Of The Universe I Starscream refused to condemn the universe until Optimus Prime and Megatron were present so they could answer for his crimes against him. After Arcee had opened the floodgates of feeding the Judge false locations, Chromia lied that the two leaders were at the Velocitron Memorial. The End Of The Universe II
To deal with the awakened Iaconus, Starscream called upon the brainwashed Croaton. After he had hovered off to monitor the battle, Maccadam arrived to open the cells, though such an act ultimately cost him his life. Shortly afterwards, Starscream managed to kill Iaconus, turning Croaton on the rest of the Cybertronian race. The End Of The Universe III The invasion was eventually stopped when Optimus and Megatron used two Matrices of Leadership to kill Starscream and Windblade freed Croaton. With the Quintesson threat ended, the Transformers formed a truce. The End Of The Universe IV
After Bumblebee had retrieved Windblade's braindead body, Chromia came forth with how to heal her. Enemy Line Using a psychic tracker from Caminus, Chromia led Bumblebee across Cybertron to Windblade's various psychic shards. The first of these led the two friends to Crystal City where they befriended Thunderhowl and aided him in defeating the Crystalline King. Thunderhowl When another shard was detected on Luna 3, Chromia directed Bumblebee to Meteorfire for aid in breaching the moon's force field. Alien Hunt! With Meteorfire And Cosmos
When Ratchet prepared to upload what they had collected of Windblade's mind, a shark flew in and stole Windblade's body. Piloting an Autobot shuttle, Chromia and Bumblebee followed to the Argon Sea. With the scanners unable to penetrate the gases, the two dived below. After following the shark, the two ran afoul of energy-draining animals, who helped themselves to the shuttle's shields before the shark returned. While Bumblebee managed to subdue the beast, he himself fell deeper into the Sea. Stringing up the shark, Chromia attempted to scan for Bumblebee before the shark introduced himself as Hammerbyte, explaining that he was guarding the Dweller.
At Hammerbyte's direction, Chromia piloted the shuttle to the deepest part of the Sea where they found Bumblebee entering a service hatch. Quickly following, Chromia found that Bumblebee and Hammerbyte had fallen under the Dweller's control, later discovering that the entity was in fact a Titan, one who planned to use Windblade to spread his influence to all of Cybertron. Using Bumblebee's stinger, Chromia managed to free her friends from the Titan's control before they escaped back to the surface. Dweller In The Depths
After Optimus Prime had received instructions from the Thirteen to destroy an alternate version of the Matrix of Leadership that Megatron had brought into their reality, Chromia joined the infiltration team into Croaton. As the Autobots clashed with Decepticons, Chromia defended Bumblebee from Shadow Striker long enough for Thunderhowl to tackle her. After the Autobots had made it to the control room, they and the Decepticons were suddenly surrounded by towering hostiles. Silent Strike
The hostiles were quickly identified as Decepticon supersoldiers created by an alternate version of Megatron who had won the Great War and the owner of the alternate Matrix. Along with the other Autobots, Chromia battled several supersoldiers and received a power boost of multiverse energy from Optimus Prime. Chromia caught up with Optimus and Bumblebee just as Astrotrain took Megatron X, defeated and immobilized by Optimus, away. Chromia was later present when a restored Windblade made her return. The Other One
Chromia was present at the signing of the Treaty of the Wall, but, along with all the other Autobots and Decepticons, was frozen by the Mercenaries' time blaster. She would later be unfrozen by Wheeljack's machine and could be seen celebrating the reunification of Cybertron with her fellow Cybertronians. The Immobilizers
Later on, when Tarn's forces attacked, Chromia was among the Autobots who gathered in the underworld to regroup, and later took part in the final battle against the Decepticon supersoldiers. Chromia was later present at Soundwave's wake following his heroic sacrifice. The Perfect Decepticon

- TakaraTomy ID number: TL-72
- TakaraTomy release date: 2024 September 28
- Accessories: 2 Bladed Mecha Stars
- Known designers: Sam Smith and Mark Maher (Hasbro), Takashi Kunihiro (TakaraTomy), Matthew Cohen (photography)[1]
- Released in the second wave of Legacy: United Deluxe Class toys, "Cyberverse Universe Chromia" is a new-head retool of Legacy: Evolution Animated Universe Prowl (making her look much closer to her canceled Heavy Metal design), and transforms into a motorcycle in 20 steps. She comes with two Mecha Stars which can be stored in her motorcycle wheels, and deployed by twisting the blade housing. Both hands are sculpted to hold the stars by their blades, while her right hand can additionally hold 5 mm accessories. Like Prowl, Chromia has a twin speedometer molded into the back of her head, present in vehicle mode.
- Chromia shares the same design problem with Prowl; her right hand cannot securely hold one of the Bladed Mecha Stars. Because of this, one of TakaraTomy's stock photos had a slightly visible adhesive tack when the figure was holding the weapon.
- Official Hasbro promotional photography by Matthew Cohen shows Chromia performing the iconic "motorcycle slide" from the Japanese animated film Akira.
Notes
- Cyberverse Chromia's appearance is based on that of "Generation 1" Chromia in the 2005-2018 IDW comics, which itself drew on Chromia's Thrilling 30 toy (which in turn was a retool of Prime: Robots in Disguise Arcee)
Foreign names
- Japanese: Chromia (クロミア Kuromia)
