Same here. But I’d not be surprised if we have Cabin for kbin at some point.

When I refer to the threadiverse in general (including “I saw a post on on…”) I just say lemmy. I actually really dislike the name “kbin”.

No sense in explaining it tho, cuz if you don’t get it, you won’t get it.

Interesting. For some reason kbin sounds better than lemmy to me, but don’t super love either.

K’bin sounds like a Klingon name.

I thought in Klingon they pronounced those kind of names like Kay-bin

I don’t think Klingon has a K’ anywhere, in fact in Klingon it would be written “Q” and followed by some vowel, like in Qapla’ or in Qi’yaH

That’s still likely a mistransliteration (or maybe because those are proper names), but Klingon has only “q” and “Q” (which depending on the capitalization are pronounced differently, treated as different letters), technically there’s no “K” in the Klingon alphabet, you can see it in the pIqaD:

              https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:KLI_pIqaD.svg

Similar as with the “f” from “Worf”, there wouldn’t be a straight “non-destructive” way to write it in Klingon.
