So you are of the opinion that if a fundamentalist religious dictator gets into power, starts torturing their own citizens, imprisoning and killing women just for the fact of them being women and wanting rights, killing freedom of speech, and imposing draconian religious laws, without giving the citizens any power to get rid of him... then it's all good? The guy is completely ignoring the fact that various forms of economic pressure already worked (to a small degree, but still) in the Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The situation of women there *did* improve over the past couple of decades, thanks to western pressure.
The difference is that both Emirates and Saudis were willing to work with the west to some degree, or at least pretended to for a long time. Iran does not.
