Phrynops ialah genus kura-kura leher sisi Amerika selatan dari keluarga Chelidae.

Kura-kura ini boleh dijumpai di Orinoco hingga Amazon dan São Francisco ke Paraná dan lembangan Sungai Colombia, Venezuela, Guianas, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay dan timur laut Argentina (Iverson, 1992).^[5]
