The Golden Five is the name given to a group of close-knitted Polish players, who dominated the Counter-Strike scene from 2006 to 2008. In 2005, a newcomer team called Team Pentagram (PGS) won SEC with Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas, Filip "NEO" Kubski and Łukasz "LUq" Wnęk. Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski and Jakub "kuben" Gurczyński joined the team in late 2005 and 2006 respectively, and in the first year, they won WSVG: London and WCG, cementing their reputation in the Counter-Strike scene. Pentagram were signed by Meet Your Makers in late 2007, and later competed under the name Wicked eSports, Vitriolic Gaming, AGAiN, Frag eXecutors and ESC Gaming.
It ended in 2013, when after a long slump, TaZ, NEO and Jarosław "pasha" Jarząbkowski left ESC Gaming to join Universal Soldiers with Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski and Paweł "byali" Bieliński, forming the long lasting Virtus.pro roster, and kuben and Loord retiring from competitive play.
