English Nationality
[edit]Katie Boulter was born and raised and cultured in England, I see no problem with listing her as English as many sports players who have the same criteria are also English. This incosistency of Wikipedia in labelling certain sports people is bewildering and 'British' is too vague. Today people want fair represenation and their individual countries recognized.
If Wikipedia expect donations to keep this site going then they really need to stop petty editors that promote topic incosistency just because they may have an anti English and prejudiced agenda!
Besides that, Katie has long been English on this site in the Short Desicription 80.189.40.27 (talk) 18:55, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- Per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Nationality_of_people_from_the_United_Kingdom it states "For sportspeople, their nationality is usually described by the national team that they qualify to represent or, in individual sports, the national sports association or federation with which they are registered. " The LTA is a British organisation, and therefore I believe the correct designation is British, as for example in Boulter's WTA designation. Ancienterracht (talk) 15:34, 7 February 2024 (UTC)
- You are correct. She is an English girl from Leicester in the East Midlands. Mark Selby, four times world snooker champion, is from the same city and is English, too. I've fixed this Billsmith60 (talk) 20:10, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- The Lead also notes that she's the British no. 1, which is correct and sufficient Billsmith60 (talk) 20:12, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
