"The Washington Summit, is about building a bridge to NATO for Ukraine, as they continue to implement important reforms," said National Security Advisor Sullivan.
“NATO remains the bulwark of global security,” said President Biden.
The United States is committed to a future in which people do not go hungry, everyone has access to quality healthcare and education, and democracies deliver a stronger, fairer society for all, said Ambassador Shrier.
“We'll continue to provide the critical capabilities that Ukraine needs to push back Russian aggression today and to deter Russian aggression tomorrow,” said Secretary Austin.
“We know the powerful change that’s possible when governments and civil society come together to stand up for … religious freedom,” said Ambassador Hussain.
The NATO Summit in Washington will, as Secretary Blinken said, “make sure that we have the right defenses across the Alliance where they’re needed ... It’s manifestly in the interests of the people that all of us represent.”
"Over generations, our nation has welcomed hundreds of thousands of refugees facing religious persecution. We work relentlessly to secure the release of people in prison for exercising their right to religious freedom around the globe," said Secretary Blinken.
"For the third consecutive year, there was notable progress to combat labor trafficking, with labor trafficking convictions and victim identifications," said Ambassador Dyer.
"Today governments around the world continue to target individuals, shutter places of worship, forcibly displace communities, and imprison people because of their religious beliefs,” said Secretary Blinken.
“It is essential that anti-trafficking advocates continually and intentionally connect and partner with communities who are most impacted by trafficking,” said Ambassador Dyer.
“Trafficking is the very definition of a problem that no one nation can solve alone,” stated Secretary Blinken.
"Russia's aggression is not only an attack on the lives and the freedom of the people of Ukraine," said Vice President Harris. But "an attack on international rules and norms and the principles embodied in the UN Charter."
