File:Mur_pour_la_paix.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Blanking

[edit]

Hi Zolo,
Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed you blanked Category:Sculptures of the Tang by subject on Commons. I asume you meant for the page to be deleted, but blanking the page is not the right way to do this. I'd like to strongly recommend to use {{speedy|reason here}} and add it on top of the page; This way it will be placed on a special list that administrators check regulary for deletion. Without this it might take a long time before it's noticed. Thanks again. 21:51, 11 April 2010 (UTC)–Krinkletalk

When changing category names, please also change the name in the media that was categorised under the old name

[edit]

After changing a category name and creating a redirect to the new category from the old category (as you did with Category:Cityscapes in Thailand), you should also change the name of the category to the new name in each item which was listed under the old category name. Otherwise, the items will not show up under the new category name. For instance, the category "Cityscapes in Thailand" was empty until I had recategorised the media which was still found under "Cityscapes of Thailand": A redirect does not redirect the media categorised media to the new category. - Takeaway (talk) 17:59, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Joconde et Gallica

[edit]

Bonjour !

Jastrow (Λέγετε) 16:42, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Facing

[edit]

Hi Zolo, are you sure about your categorization to facing left of

Thanx for checking and rework. Now I have another question: The construction of Category:Three-quarter view portraits of women, facing right (and similar Category:Three-quarter view portraits of women, facing left) looks not very transparently. If I click the subcategory, I will returned by redirect and stay in a endless circle. Only by clicking the link of the redirect hint, I get content. --Diwas (talk) 23:33, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Commons user,

We noticed you adopted {{Mérimée}}. Thanks for your work in the field of Monuments Historiques français !

In case you did not know about it, we invite you to take a look at the Projet Monuments Historiques français.

We hope to see you soon ! — Jean-Fred (talk) 22:33, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have created an essential category. Having stated that, I dare to flatter myself that you will permit me to make a request of you : to rename the category from Mythology paintings by Boucher to Mythological paintings by Boucher.--Thorvaldsson (talk) 20:11, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am grateful to you for the courtesy you have shown me.--Thorvaldsson (talk) 08:43, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And also File:Gaul god Sucellus.jpg, the reference you give on Joconde is false, it is not exactly the same object (see the clothes) and the inventory number is not same. Anywhere, very thanks for the goog job of referencing the picture, if I understand how to do, I will add this template on my next pictures of museum object in France. Codex Vallardi

[edit]

Bonjour.

OxxO 07:54, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I noticed you made newowner optional for gifts in this template. I'm assuming that has something to do with the article not showing up when you fill it out completely. What I usually do is add the article myself. For example:

{{ProvenanceEvent|time={{Other date|?}}|type=gift|newowner={{LangSwitch|de=das|en=the|fr=au|nl=het}} {{Louvre}}, {{Paris}},|oldowner=John Appletree}}

This then becomes:

Unknown date: given to the Louvre Museum, Paris, by John Appletree

I know this is a little laborious, but I hope it's of some use. Maybe you even have a better idea of handling this. Regards, Vincent Steenberg (talk) 14:20, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This drawing's location at the Met is clearly established by the source of the image given on the NY Times website link. Your inability to find it on the Met's website is not grounds for removing sourced information, particularly given this statement: "Due to the extremely large number of objects in the Museum's permanent collection, not all artworks are currently available in the Collection Database."[1] Cheers, Postdlf (talk) 04:22, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, "photo Metropolitan" doesn't mean the met owns the photo. It just took a photo, because the drawing was displayed at the Met during an exhibition. Actually, I should have found out the owner earlier: as mentionned in the article linked to the photo : the exhibition is called “Raphael to Renoir: Drawings From the Collection of Jean Bonna”--Zolo (talk) 06:31, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose that means we were both wrong. Postdlf (talk) 14:23, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wildenstein Gauguin

[edit]

You are doing a great job with Gauguin. I have modified {{Wildenstein Gauguin}} to include two index numbers: the first one for Georges Wildenstein, 1964, the second one for Daniel Wildenstein, 2001.--V.Riullop (talk) 07:52, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. User:SchlurcherBot automatically applied a similar mode for Van Gogh here (by the way I don't know what the category name should be]]. With Gauguin, I'm not sure the syntax used in the ID line is sufficiently uniform to be understood by a bot, so it may have to be applied manually. --Zolo (talk) 08:27, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Modèle Painting

[edit]

Artwork

[edit]

Voici mon premier essai

--Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 15:18, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cela me parait concluant aussi.
English: Scraper double on blade- Different views of the same specimen

Category:Color parameter used

[edit]

What is the meaning and intention of Category:Color parameter used ? --Foroa (talk) 15:35, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is just a temporary category for maintenance. As color is a rather new parameter, I wanted to keep track of its use, both to know if something had to be changed in template technique and if the parameter should be renamed (to "adjective" for instance). If you find it disturbing to have a red "Color parameter used" displayed, I can create a hiddencat (but it will have to be deleted some day).--Zolo (talk) 20:14, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No problem for me, but it appears in the wanted category list and in close to 400 red categories, so I guess that it would be better to make a (temp) cat in a documented category. --Foroa (talk) 20:35, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have created the category.--Zolo (talk) 15:20, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Problème de taille!

[edit]

bonjour,

parfait merci --Archaeodontosaurus (talk) 02:57, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
